It’s weird hearing about Algol like this. Yes under some transits her energy is dangerous. But she is one of my favourite stars. Her stellar energy (not the events caused by transits activating her) is absolute, pure and cleansing. I love meditating with her, not to mention how protective this star is against magic/curses/spirits. I recommend people interested in Algol to research Medusa’s story as she is connected to this star, the star is part of the constellation marking Medusa’s eye after all. One of the interesting things about Algol, is that, Medusa in Greek Mythology was the first disciple of the Goddess of Wisdom Athena. And the egg Medusa was born from, was actually the first diamond to ever be created, prophesied by Athena. I find that bit quite interesting as diamonds we typically associate with Venus. Always wondered what the connection was there, if there is one at all since Greek mythology is different.

@@akilasultana2368 The diamond is created by immense pressure, which might look like a great hardship if applied to a persons life. Medusa was pious, and intelligent but got taken advantage of and then was unsupported by the goddess that she worshipped for so long. So much punishment and then death…. But then to rise through your story that could only be told by the divine through Stars for Men to interpret. Having your name and story live on and told forever. A story similar to the way a diamond is made.

This is a beautiful thread. In one of our nakshatra lessons we discussed the secret teachings of this star, as I understand it. As a tale told by men, it may be biased against the female principle, as Medusa was a woman of great power and beauty. She was cursed for it, or for fornicating in a temple (which is an abuse of that power and beauty), but her ability to 'turn men to stone' remained. Perhaps this alludes to a beautiful/smart/strong woman's ability to freeze a man in his tracks. This reveals a weakness and failing in the men, but also the strong ego in Medusa, the weilder of the power. In the end, cutting of the head means taming the ego that is associated with power and beauty, and most importantly, once the ego is tamed, that it becomes a service to humanity rather than just the person who possesses the power. Her head is given to Athena, the goddess of wisdom, and used to protect those who take refuge in her. At least that's a part of the allegory, as I understand it.

@ Simon In the version of the story I have of Medusa, the head is returned to Medusa. The story goes, Athena prophesies that there will be a diamond, the first, and it will shatter into a million pieces. Later on, two sea snakes have children, and one of their eggs is a diamond, different from the rest. Athena comes down and explains that the diamond egg is the first diamond and she prophesied it and so would like to bring up the child. The snakes agree, give Athena the diamond egg and that’s the egg Medusa is born from. Athena teaches Medusa and begins her cult with Medusa as her first and most close disciple. Athena’s cult were strictly celibate and so Medusa was also practicing celibacy. Now because Medusa was from the sea, she technically fell under being one of Poseidon’s children, and Poseidon and Athena are like eternal enemies. So Poseidon was pretty angry at the fact that one of his children was building a successful cult with Athena, his sworn enemy. He decides then to try and bring Medusa back to him and get her to leave Athena. To do this, every night he caused Medusa to have sexual dreams to highlight all the sensual experiences she could be having in his kingdom. Medusa was pretty disturbed by these, but thought they were a test from Athena. They upset Medusa so much, to the point she stopped sleeping. Poseidon now having no way to get Medusa to come home to his ocean kingdom, ends up visiting her one night himself. Explains to Medusa she is one of his children and must come back with him. Medusa refuses to leave Athena’s cult. Poseidon out of fury, turns into a monster, that then basically possess Medusa, so that she’s frozen in her own body but experiencing her father inside her and his rage. Through her body, Poseidon then kills all the cult members and shatters the diamond egg Medusa was born from that was kept for the cult. After killing everyone and shattering the diamond, Poseidon finally kills Medusa too. While frozen in her own body however, witnessing everything being destroyed, Medusa had prayed to Athena to avenge her. After everything was destroyed and Medusa killed. Poseidon leaves. Athena comes down and finds Medusa killed and the diamond shattered, as she prophesied. Athena then resurrects Medusa as a new diamond egg, separating her from the memory of everything that had happened that had caused her so much pain. And with it, creates the monster we know as Medusa with all the snakes. Athena took the new diamond egg, Medusa inside, separated from all memories of what had happened. Back to Olympus. The Medusa left behind with all the memories and pain is allowed by Athena to then kill in vengeance. The snake headed medusa, eats all the eyes of the killed cult members, resurrecting them all too (hence the whole corpse eating thing associated with Algol). They then all in revenge, lure the seamen and sea creatures to them to engage in sexual acts together only for Medusa to reveal her faces to them, freezing them. Essentially using Poseidon’s powers and also pride against him. Meanwhile. The new diamond egg Athena resurrected Medusa from and taken to Olympus has hatched etc. and Medusa up in Olympus finds out about the other half of her Athena had separated from her, killing numberless people. Out of concern for those dying, Medusa asks Athena to stop what’s happening. So Athena, cuts off her pinky finger, from which later Perseus is born from. And then instructs Perseus to go and kill the snake headed Medusa. Giving him a mirrored shield to protect him, through which Medusa up in Olympus could speak to him through and protect him through. Perseus ends up killing the snake headed Medusa, but through the shield Medusa back up in Olympus sees her snake headed version, containing all her pain and memories. And asks Perseus to return the head to her, even though it would mean the painful memories would also return to her up in Olympus with Athena. Algol thus, symbolises MANY things. To me, Algol is connected to mercy and the integration of suffering. Which holds the element of being painful. But also marks the beginning of compassion where we recognise the darker hurt parts of ourselves, accept it with respect and ultimately take responsibility for it, while remaining compassionate to ourselves and others.

This is interesting. I just found this video. I do have both sun and ketu at 7 degrees Taurus in my 8th house near alcyone and mercury near pollux at 28 degrees in taurus as well.

A friend of mine was recently arrested on suspicion of inciting the murder of her ex-husband. He survived a knife attack of a paid assasin lats year. Her arrest happened right around the Mars-Uranus-Algol conjunction started getting active. Algol is conjunct her ascendant. Her one year old dauther has Sun and Moon in Taurus, very close to Algol and the Mars-Uranus-Algol conjuntion happened right on her Sun-Moon midpoint. The father (not the ex-husband) has also been arrested, so both parents are in jail. Mind you I am not from a country that has a high crime rate and most of the people involved I would've never suspected of any kind of criminal activity. I don't like to fear monger about the "bad" fixed stars such as Algol but this case just left me in shock. The arrested friend doesn't seem to have much more going on in her chart apart from the Algol situation. Pluto is transiting inconjunt her Sun and the progressed Moon entered the 12th house opposing natal Moon and Uranus. But that's it. Not a lot of difficult transits suggesting jail time. I've seen a lot worse with less malefic results.

29 Taurus activates the marker star (yoga tara) of Mrigashira nakshatra, while VE and ME activate the Chitra/Swati marker stars, depending upon how far above/below the ecliptic they lie. That is, if they are above the ecliptic I"m inclined to take more Swati characteristics, while at or below the ecliptic more Chitra.

Why is moon exalted in Krittika at 3 degrees Taurus sidereal, next to Algol at 2 degrees? I know the story about Kartikeya who was raised by the Krittikas but is still does not explain to me why moon is exalted next to Algol.

The exaltation/debilitation scheme does not take into account the fixed stars. It has its own rhyme and rhythm which I have to look into more deeply before I discuss it in a video.

I wrote my prediction about Trump's assassination attempt in your membership area 2 months ago. I am no longer a member, so it's a bit hard to recall which video it was related to. If I remember correctly, your video was about Trump's birth chart, and Nadja mentioned something about poisoning and the 12th house (jail and hospital). I created a Tithi Pravesh chart for Trump's election year and also posted a video in Finnish on my KZbin channel 2 months ago. It focused on the eighth house maraka combination with the 7th lord in the 8th house, where Mercury and sun are also positioned in Gemini. The reason I made the Tithi Pravesh chart was due to the solar eclipse chart in the USA and the 10th lord in the eighth house. My conclusion was that it is most likely going to be a failed attempt because of Jupiter's location near the fortune point. Additionally, the viparita raja yoga in the 8th house connected to the 12th house, and Mercury being in its own sign, somewhat mitigates the negative effects.

I used Pushya-Paksha Ayanamsha, and in that chart, the Sun, Mercury, and Venus are in Ardra. Mercury is also the Kala Lord of that chart and sun is hora-lord which is significant. I titled my Blogger post "Sun-Lord in the Middle of a Storm." I also stated that the the possible accident, assanation attempt is goin to produce him fortune as there is reversla of a fortune in his tithi-pravesha.

My timing for the event was not as accurate as I anticipated, as I thought it would occur around the election day, mostly after the election. The Venus Dasha from 2024-10-04 to 2024-12-12, with Venus as the 12th lord in the 8th house, would be significant. The assassination attempt happened during Saturn Dasha, with Saturn being the 4th lord in the 4th house. Also the day-lord sun gives only 1/8 astagawarga-points in that chart beeing 10th lord in the 8th house.

a 5/10 parivartana is considered a raja yoga and quite auspicious for career. could be career in any of Krittika's fields, including cooking, journalism & video, etc. an 8/10 parivartana would indicate a great innovator in their career, possibly tied to Jyotisha or new inventions. Need the whole chart to interpret better

good question. Ronald Reagan was famous for using an astrologer, however to many in hardline politics it's tantamount to saying you use witchcraft. Thus he tried to keep it quiet. Frankly, most people in those circles do not believe or do not openly claim they believe in astrology.
