I loved MTV Partyzone in the early 1990's, in these Times i own my Amiga Computer, was 22 and loved to record the Videos in my VHS :) many greetings from Brunswick in Germany..

Those were the days indeed, MTV was much better back then, great VJ's such as Simone, Paul, Rebecca, Ray, Kristiane... Hours of actual music videos, and good music too. It was much better back then, more interesting and more fun.

In 1993, when the cable network included MTV, this channel played non stop in my room. I "lived" with MTV untill 1995, when it was scrambled and the cable operators changed it with the horrible french MCM, (I liked only "MCM Club Orangina" and later "MCM Dance Atittude" from this channel) altough VIVA was requested by the people. A lot of Eurodance music that was played on VIVA at that time, was also listened and played in clubs in Romania. VIVA TV had a very poor signal at that time in Romania, so you needed a dish of about 4 meters diameter to watch it. Finally they got this 4 m antenna in 1998 and begun to send VIVA în the cable net. After about 1 year , Atomic TV, the first romanian music channel started broadcasting in february 1999. Then, in 2000, the french MCM became MCM România, for about 2 or 3 years, and afterwards it changed in MTV România. It was OK till 2010. It broadcasted romanian and foreign music, but starting with 2010, the boring american reality shows started. VIVA TV was not broadcasted in the cable net anymore since 2002. Meanwhile, Atomic TV changed to "TV K-lumea" and then to "Kiss TV". Starting with 2009, other romanian music channels appeard: " UTV", "1 Music Channel", " Party TV" etc. So, I could choose the music I liked. In 2015 MTV Romania was taken out from the cable net "UPC", I am affiliated to, but I still have the english channels MTV Hits, MTV Rock, which I never watch and MTV Dance. Not a big loss for me. In other romanian networks like " Dolce Telekom" or "RCS-RDS" you can still watch MTV Romania. Briefly, that's the story of music channels in Romania, MTV Europe being of course the first and the only one non stop music channel that appeared, like in other European countries, I guess. But one way or another I still miss that clssic MTV Europe, because I grew with it as a child and a teenager.

MTV Europe was superb... When it changed to MTV UK or whatever it was or started to suck music wise... I'm a Brit but I've always preferred alot of acts from mainland Europe... No idea as to why... Had access to the Sky /Astra satellite since the late 80's and I miss those days, the VJ's and being young... Lol
