I love that she included Jade, too. It's not just Suni coming back. Simone is a team player not just a one person player. She cares for her team and understands that they are in this together. I loved the inclusiveness.

Wow! A great take away here is that training yourself MENTALLY is equally important as training yourself PHYSICALLY. What a great lesson for us all. Go Simone!!!!!! 🤩🤩🤩

I now see male gymnasts open up about that as well. Zhang Boheng in China had a very recent interview talking about mental injury. It’s amazing the change she and others brought about now. Cos it applies to everyone

Not a fan of the bars question. Should have worded it differently. Like, "Now that you're a bars champion, has your opinion on them changed?"

It feels from the Q/A that happened that there might be some unfinished business on bars…it’s been historically the only place where she’s had anything even resembling a noticeable wobbliness.

Simone the GOAT and a true leader for the USA gymnastics!
@valerielinares20684 ай бұрын
I have no gymnastics experience whatsoever, but, after all I've learned about what the environment used to be, it touches my heart to see how much Simone has changed her sport for the better. So much so that Shawn Johnson said she's grateful how Simone has changed their sport to the point that she'd feel better about allowing her children to get into gymnastics if they wanted to. I also saw an interview with Laurie Hernandez where she noticed how Jordan was having so much fun on the competition floor, hyping up the crowd and her teammates, and dancing between routines. Laurie said she and Aly talked about it and how, in their generation, they would have gotten in trouble for doing the same thing. She's so happy that herself, and her teammates, including Simone have helped contribute to the changes in the sport so that athletes like Jordan can feel comfortable being themselves and actually have fun doing a sport they love. It just made my heart happy to know that where athletes were once stifled from being themselves because they were in a toxic environment can now feel free to be themselves.

I love not only her gymnastics, but how good of a teammate she is, such a strong leader. So stoked for the person she has become! And not related to Simone at all, I just hate that it's so difficult to hear the reporters questions. I can usually figure out the gist of it based on her response, but it's still frustrating.

Simone Biles is more than the GOAT in gymnastics performance, She is truly a class act in every way and an outstanding representative not only for her sport but for all women’s sports. Certain WNBA players could learn a lot from her example. But they won’t.

I love Simone.She's so well spoken and I think it's really awesome that she was there to support Suni.I think many years ago everyone was so to themselves.There was no real team support.And I think that's really important in this sport & in every sport it makes a difference.

you are the best of the best Simone! Keep going!

Point to ponder. Gymnastics, really very much an individual sport, is one of the best examples of sportsmanship and team support. In contrast, the WNBA, a team sport, is rife with unsportsmanlike conduct and self-promotion. Why? I think it has a lot to do with culture, and Simone’s leadership plays a big part in that culture.

I liked the bars question. I appreciate your more casual and more intimate candor with these ladies because, after all, they’re people. It might have caught Simone off guard but that’s probably because everyone talks about… VT (the YDP/Biles II) FX (triple dub/Biles II, the quickening; Biles I) BB (dub dub dis/Biles “Will it come back” and mount series) So it’s not like you accused her of being bad at bars, but I think it’s interesting to hear how she might think of the apparatus where she has the fewest golds/medals, partially because it’s the only podium we don’t necessarily expect to see her on

Simone will always be known for her choke and quitting on her team in Japan. Japan did not allow Simone to take her Adderall. That is a bad substance there. The Japanese feel it’s gives a competitor and unfair advantage.
