At 1:41 Simone was told her scores are currently the highest in the world on her events. But all she talked about was improving and how she was disappointed about falling short of the expectations she had for herself. This is why Simone is so magnificent. Being the best in the world is not adequate. She's trying to be the best _she_ is cable of achieving. Gosh, I admire this woman.

4 gold medals and still placing 10th on bars with a fall and yet being disappointed at some areas of your performance. Just goes to show how much out of everyones league Simone’s gymnastics actually is! I also love how much more matured she is now, handling the questions and viewing of things etc. Love this beautiful young woman and her fabulous gymnastics.

I like that she did this interview. I feel like a lot of her podium training videos made her look like she was over it but I think that she has just really matured a lot. I really like this Simone :D . keep smiling.

Her interviewers are so mature and real...like she’s showing her true personality and being so honest about everything I love it! It does break my heart that her bars weren’t as good as they were in training. She definitely knows that there are nasty people out there who will judge her with every little thing that isn’t “perfect”, which comes with her reputation I guess. BUT, considering all the pressure that she has, her reputation as a “legend”, the fact that she’s competing with younger girls she’s never competed with before, and with all the USAG crap, she did amazing. Nobody in a comeback position was in her position. She truly has a mental game of steel

Bad form media. She just competed, not the appropriate time to bring up abuse scandal and she should be the one to initiate the conversation. Incredibly unprofessional and she handled herself so well despite that.

Daniel Nelson WRONG the media should absolutely bring it up. It matters. It matters a TON, and Simone is a grown woman. It might be inappropriate to ask a 15yo these questions, but asking a grown woman who has had the bravery to come forward and identify herself as a victim of abuse is totally acceptable. Simone knew the questions were coming, and if she didn't want to answer them she would have gracefully declined.

Actually her floor score wasn’t the highest; Mai Murakami has scored a 14.8 this year. Simone will definitely take that top floor score soon enough though.

I don't know what the interviewer meant, but I read that her* all around score was the highest in the world this year. *Actually, I was following a live blog on the competition and I read that Riley's AA score was the highest AA in the world this year... that was before Simone was done, and obviously now we know Simone scored higher than even that.

Gymgeek If anything, Japanese domestic competitions are typically underscored. I would generally give Mai about a 14.5 or so for a hit routine but she must have been really on it.

Bquan Porter its just sad she and Morgan had to go that route. Many are defending morgan because she is younger (she is 17 not 12) and I honestly don't blame simone. It's not her fault all the hype was about her comeback. the "Bit#h it isn't all about you" post on her finsta just wasn't right and I would he angry too. Why are they asking her questions about the sexual abuse scandal?... I feel like this was a totally inappropriate place to bring it up. That should probably be on separate interviews. I think asking here was unprofessional and detracted away from the focus, which should be her comeback and how she competed.

@Bo Rood you sound ignorant-- Most black Women build muscle naturally. When I used to train with weights I didn't have to even try that hard and built a lot of muscle naturally. Its in the African genes!!! Congratulations to Simone she did pretty good for just coming back. I was also pleasantly surprised to see how well Riley did. I am hoping these girs will add more difficulty to their routines so they can go toe to toe with Simone. Otherwise everyone is going to be competing for #2nd and #3rd place all season!
