@@zcbbw First of all, no one is saying that the British was 慈眉善目善解人意 but just your own thought. Decolonisation was a trend in the post Second World War period, meanwhile the British was difficult to afford the burden of colonies after the WWII. If you comparing the process of decolonisation between the British and the other western empire, you can see the British government provided a smooth and non bloody process to its colonies. Moreover, those questions are just nonsense, of course the British would not giving autonomy and liberalism to its colonies in the early colonial period since its own benefits, but still the British eager to give up the colonies and tried to build up a pro democratic and modernised government which can be smoothly transferred in the post colonial period.

@@zcbbw also the young plan was carry out in 1945 which was just after the WW II, was it already in the transferring period of Hong Kong? I’m just wondering have you watched the whole video😂
明白你的提供資料,正所謂"亦有仁義"。 也許請看看, only if you want to see the big picture of British empire, again, only if you want to study more comprehensively...... kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z2LJY2eDrqqXrZo

Malaysia did not want Singapore for ethnic reasons. If Singapore became part of Malaysia, the % of ethnic Chinese will be as high as the % of Malays, which they consider to be "Bumiputras" (sons of the soil), the rightful owner of Malay peninsula. Therefore, Tunku Abdul Raman kicked Singapore out of the Malaysia Federation, to keep the ethnic superiority of the Malays in Malaysia. Lee Kuan Yew shed tears in front of the TV to announce that Singapore would be an independent country, after losing the Malaya hinterland.

When a certain nation reentered the UN, it promptly asked UN to remove HK from the list of colonies. Technically, it refused to regard HK as a 'British colony', for the UN has a resolution to allow colonies to gain independence after WWII, including Malaysia and Singapore.
