It is pretty funny trying to use a shovel with the chickens out. While digging the frog pond I had to lock them away or I would still be digging.

I think i already said it, but your relation with animals is quite amazing!!! You sure do have tons of patience, and it is so sweet the way they trust you completely. Your garden is looking amazing, it always surprises me to see how you advance and how well thought it is. Good videos, fun, easy to watch and really enjoy. Thank you for the sharing.

I am surprised they all still have their toes. It was a funny afternoon in the garden. Took a bit longer than no chickens but much more entertaining with them. Glad you enjoyed the Video.

Sehr schön, die Hühner werden handzahm. Unglaublich, wie zutraulich die jetzt schon sind. Toll. Gruß aus Frankfurt und bleibt gesund.

Vielen Dank. Wenn ich jetzt einen tätschele, rennen die anderen rüber, um auch einen Klaps zu bekommen. Sie sind lustige Kreaturen.

So good to see you again. I love that your chickens are so eager to help. You are so patient with them. I have a shorter fuse, so the chickens are only allowed in the garden between seasons. They are looking forward to harvesting their summer garden. We have the greenhouse for our winter crops as we stay from 1.6 c to 7.2 c from Dec. through March so they will play in there when the weather begins to warm. Are you able to grow winter veg (i.e. brassicas and root crops)? How cold does it get and when is your winter season? You're doing an amazing job! Looking forward to the next episode in your journey.

Coldest it gets here is 0c I believe you can still grow some winter crops which I will try next year. A nice hothouse is on my plan before next winter. I just need our COVID lock down to finish. Slowing me down a bit.

Thank you. My beautiful elderly dog is really poorly and it has been a tough time seeing her deteriorate. No idea if she will pull through. Watching your chickens is the first time I have laughed aloud for a few days. Thanks again.

Please, just remember what an amazing relationship you have had with him the love shared, the special moments, the unconditional love he has for you. When the time comes, talk to him, hold him dearly, be calm and tell him to go in peace. Tell him that you will be ok, because you see, dogs come to us to teach us how to love, and the best you can give him is a loving goodbye, filled with feeling of joy and thankfulness for having had him in your life. I soooooooo understand you, be strong and love him tons and tons.

Anci Margarita thank you, sweetheart. She’s a girl, btw, a lovely flat-coated retriever. And I agree absolutely that they come to teach us how to love. What wonderful teachers! I will honour, respect and love her to her last second and beyond. X

Yep. For an animal with such a small brain they figure things out pretty quick. It was very funny when they still sat on the dirt even when I was lifting the shovel with dirt and chicken. I was pretty much chuckling the whole time.

Hi Simon, I've been watching Mark for years now great channel, he has a second channel as well self sufficient me 2 !! Haha chooks their sticky beaks aren't they their got to be in the thick of it !! Your going to keep the chooks out, good luck with that unless you clip their wings that is !! Don't forget to spread some blood and bone around in the bed as well mate. Are you getting any eggs yet. Thanks for the vids mate. Seeya Rob

Yep. 4 eggs a day now. Happy chooks = good eggs. Had a nice scrambled eggs for breakfast yesterday :). Whilst I might jest about the chooks getting into trouble I think the entertainment they provide is well worth it.

What is the use of digging the ground, then placing the leaves and twigs, then burying them, as well as the chest, putting the firewood and then burying it?
@simonhahnel8092
@simonhahnel8092 3 жыл бұрын
Based on Hugelkultur theory.

Love hugelkultur but if i'm planting veg i tend to do them as mounds. I leave high sided beds as wicking beds because i don't think most veg need more than 30cm soil depth.
