I’m not too sure either but I’m like 40% sure that the place holder blocks in the hopper stop other items from going in that hopper, therefore moving to the next one. And when the correct item is detected with the comparators, the hopper unlocks from the comparator and allows the items to go through without the place holder blocks going through. I’m not sure tho as I said

The comparators can see how full the hoppers are. In the tutorial he fills it up just before the comparator detects the correct signal strength so when an item goes into the hopper the signal strengtg gets higher so the hopper lets the Irene’s through until the signal strength is not at the correct signal strength (I’m not very good at explaining sry )

Just built this farm on the latest version of Bedrock and it works beautifully. In just 15 minutes of sitting there AFK (with a Looting 3 sword), I went from lvl 19 to 48 and got 160 gold ingots (2-3 stacks). That makes this farm produce roughly 10 stacks of gold ingots per hour, and you will also get over 70 stacks of Rotten Flesh. So make sure to empty those chests every 30-40 minutes, otherwise you will probably break the sorting system.

@Fire Ruccio yes this is a bug in 1.17, tridents despawn when you leave the area. The distance seems to be about 200ish blocks, some say 5-6 chunks. Pick up your trident before leaving the farm, mojang says theres a fix coming in 1.18

I just built this farm yesterday in Bedrock 1.20 on my switch and it's incredible. Easy to build, the video is great. It does make my switch a little laggy (my fault for playing on switch) but it's extremely efficient for XP, best farm I've been able to set up so far. The only thing I learned was I'm in a realm, and I threw the trident, so XP only drops when I'm logged into the realm. No one else can get XP if I'm logged out. Great video, great farm, even for someone who is not very good at minecraft.

This farm is insanely good! I was very surprised how efficient it is. This is the only exp farm you need. The piglins spawn at high rates and in bulk. My mending tools and armor take virtually no time to repair now and I have a ton of gold. Thanks JC!

Flesh goes through the hoppers and into furnace if theres just a little lag. Jamming the whole storage system. Wouldn't suggest unless someone knows a reliable fix.

Still working for 1.20 bedrock, if you have any problems with the collection system make sure the minecart with hopper has not despawned. Mine wasnt working after not playing a while and this fixed it for me.

Fun Fact: Gold tools and Iron tools when smelted will turn into their respective nuggets (Gold Swords to gold nuggets, Iron Swords to iron nuggets) so if you attach that gold sword incinerator into a furnace system you can create extra gold nuggets.

I'll note I experienced a problem connecting the hoppers to the comparators. To fix this, remove the comparators, place blocks where they were, THEN connect the hoppers facing that direction, remove the blocks, and re-place the comparators. Got it working!

I just made this in Bedrock 1.20 and it’s crazy! Works perfectly. You can watch all your mending tools get repaired right in front of you and then your xp bar starts filling fast.
