What are some of you go-to simple AIP meals?? I'd love to hear!

Look at her eyes when she speaks, shes so excited and cute. Its sad that when I initially started the AIP diet about two years ago we didn't have so many different alternatives and people experimenting much with foods. I say sad, because that means more people are suffering. Yet, the good part is videos like yours so thank you precious. Be well.

All this time I’ve been consuming chia, quinoa, nuts & seeds, monk fruit and other things that you have on your exclude list and my Hashimoto’s blood levels were sky rocket no wonder they were not coming down. This is so hard and frustrating! I’ve been eating healthy for 2 years and eliminating all red meats only and eating gluten-free, and my numbers were the same. Thank you so much for sharing this information I’m on a Paleo diet right now but I think I’m going to try your protocol. Thanks again! ❤

Hey hope your well How are you now?
@paradiseacres9724 Жыл бұрын
@blaze56701 thank you so much for asking! I am absolutely GREAT!! I stayed very restrictive AIP for almost a year and then I moved over to carnivore and I haven't looked back! I feel amazing... my skin, hair, vision, and energy level is fantastic and off the charts! Every bloodwork done my antibodies are lower with my Hashimoto's. I haven't had to use sunscreen or mosquito repellent spray in 2 summers here in the deep south of the US. I only wish I had felt this good in my 20's so I could have run circles around my kids!! They deserved a Mom who felt like I do now. It's not for everyone, but carnivore eating, stress reduction/self love, and reducing chemical exposure has changed my life for the best! If you know you aren't as good as you should be, don't give up, keep searching and find your own personal solution. We, as a species, have only eaten all the crap available and lived this fast paced, stressful lifestyle for less than 75 years and it effects us all differently. I wish you blessings on your journey to better health! Let me know if you have any questions... God bless! Oh, and check out Dr. KEN BERRY here on KZbin. He really changed this former vegetarian for 17 years life more than anyone on this planet!! 🙏🏻💪🏻💯💕

Thank you for your channel, Shanna! I have Hashimoto’s as well and am in my second week of AIP elimination phase. I started out super complicated but realized that the simpler meals tasted better to me. A hash with ground beef, sweet potatoes, onion, and garlic is my FAVE meal!

The fats part is sooo important and I love the way you explained it: every time I’ve tried to follow an anti inflammatory diet (pretty much whole30, mostly plant based) it would be too low in fat and I couldn’t last because I’d feel so unsatiated. So I’m excited to try AIP. I never thought I’d do anything like paleo because I’ve always been such an advocate for carbs, but I’m definitely going to give this a shot. - I have lupus, Hypothyroid and Hashimotos and my lupus has been affecting my lungs and I just want to be able to breathe normally and fully again 🙏

Thank you for the info. I stoped AIP about a year ago when I got c**id. Had to stay isolated and my husband doesn't have a clue. He would bring home fast food and leave it outsied the bedroom door. I was on it 8 mnths and lost 37lbs and was feeling some better. I have refused injections or infusions so far. I have psorisis, psoriatic arthritis, and sjogrens syndrom so far. Who knows what will pop up next. Hope you have some videos on batch cooking because latley we are eating on the fly. A lot of things I made in the past my Husband didn't even notice it had substitutes or deleted things. I whish he would just stop eating bread, grains, sugar. Sweets are his down fall.

I love your energy and fantasizing about one day being this excited about something besides music! I am working on a book about everything I learned in the past 5 years of doing AIP. i think I’m gonna watch this video on repeat until I naturally am excited. I grew up in the South and this is so foreign to me and everyone. When i started i was the only one i knew in my town/region doing this. A couple of years later I finally met someone else in my town on AIP and almost fainted😆 i was so relieved and excited that someone else got it. I felt so good the first month or so of AIP but after eating beef liver I had an allergic reaction and wondered if I had alpha-gal but was never tested. I just eliminated it and introduced sardines and then salmon. It’s been 5 years and I still haven’t eaten beef, chicken, duck, or pork etc. I’ll never eat pork😆 even if it’s pasture-raised organic. I know too much😅 but I will miss bacon. Thanks again! I fall off the bandwagon a lot and eat “AIP junk” once I could eat chocolate again because in the South, I grew up eating sausage, eggs, toast, orange juice for breakfast. It wasn’t until AIP that I learned from my doctor that it’s best to eat fat free breakfast and eat fat with lunch/dinner, because if you want to detox, you have to eat fat free because if your liver digests fat, it can’t dump toxins, but if you eat fat free, your liver doesn’t have to use all its energy to digest fat and it can dump toxins. I usually drink “lemonade” and a smoothie but have added chickpea pancakes and scale back to smoothies when my symptoms pop up. ❤

Here's a tip- buy your shrimp already peeled. The caveat is that if you cook the shrimp with the peal on, then peal them, they taste better. But if you peal before cooking anyway... might as well buy the pre-peeled. Note: if the frozen shrimp is pink, it's already cooked and just needs a warm up. Raw shrimp is brownish grey in color. ❤🌅🌵
@ShannaNemrow4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I actually tried to. My local Whole Foods didn't have any shrimp already peeled in a "Wild Caught" option at the time I bought it. It was at the worst of the food issues a couple of months ago, and many shelves were empty. But next time I need some, I'm hoping that is an option ;). Also, good to know to cook with the peel on for better tasting shrimp! I was not impressed when I cooked mine with the peel off so that makes sense. Thanks again!

I'm giggling at the things that gross you out 😄 But it's great to hear how you got over a lot of picky eating and your kids as well. For a chicken wing recipe, I love Japanese style fried chicken every so often. You just marinate in ginger and garlic and salt. Then, lightly bread with tapioca flour and fry 😋 BTW I just realized not too long ago that I needed to eliminate coconut. Once I stopped consuming coconut, my residual facial pain from shingles finally went away! I'm sad about not being able to eat coconut but SO GLAD to be free of the pain finally! I've been on elimination phase since April 2019 and finally feel close to doing reintroductions now that I figured out the cause of my pain. Thanks for sharing this video! ❤❤❤

You're welcome! LOL - I never realized how often I was grossed out before. GREAT idea on the chicken wings - thank you so much! CONGRATS on figuring out that you needed to eliminate coconut - SO GLAD to hear your facial pain from shingles finally went away!! SO excited for you! I had shingles years ago and it was SO painful. The doctor told me there may be nerve damage / residual pain. I haven't had any except when I accidentally get super stressed, then a little pain starts on the side of my back where I had shingles. I told a friend about it who also had shingles and she gets the same thing - told me it's known as a "shingle tingle." But I cannot remember the last time I felt it now...it's been years I think.

Such a great video! How long have you been on AIP? Is it supposed to be short term?
@ShannaNemrow4 жыл бұрын
Thank you Nyree! There are three phases of AIP: elimination phase, reintroduction phase, and maintenance phase. The elimination phase is meant to be temporary (a minimum of 30-90 days). I am in the maintenance phase with many reintroductions (eggs, nuts, seeds, etc). I still share mainly about the elimination phase in my videos because it's what I receive the most requests for / most questions about. ;)

@edo2097 Жыл бұрын
I have the same question. Did you have any answer in the meantime? I really cannot stomach meat, cooking it or even going in the supermarket aisles.
@sarahk89 Жыл бұрын
I am finding you cannot. A lot of the vegan staple foods are a no no for AIP - and could be causing inflammation in your body. I am a 12 year long vegan who is SERIOUSLY contemplating AIP bc my health is my main focus now. I think it would bring a spiritual aspect into food and an appreciation for the cycle of life. That’s how I would apply it personally.

You are so helpful! I just started the AIP elimination phase almost 2 months ago, I feel great! And you are right about fruits!!! It does feel like such a treat. I’ve been addicted to sugar for so long, its great to rediscover how satisfying fruit can be. What fruits would you suggest during the elimination phase? And how, 10-40 grams too? Thank you so much!
@ShannaNemrow4 жыл бұрын
You're welcome Jackie! And thank you!! SO awesome to hear how well you are doing! So what kinds of fruits depends on the person. For months, I needed to be careful about my blood sugar regulation / levels. So I always ate fruit paired with a protein and fat. I also stuck with green apples and berries mainly since they are lower in sugar content. I'd usually only eat 2-3 pieces of that kind of fruit a day. However, in time, I did well with more and more types of fruit and more quantity. Now I can get away with almost anything and get away with much more. So it's a very individual thing in my mind and so important to listen to our bodies. Improving blood sugar regulation helps too - I should do a video with tips for that ;)
@jackies62744 жыл бұрын
