I made this meal plan this week. OMG.. so delicious! I actually teared up when I started eating it because I found out I'm allergic to gluten and dairy and my entire diet had previously consisted of bread and milk products. I felt so lost and had no idea what to eat (that's how I found your video and blog). I must admit, the smoothie didn't keep me satisfied until lunch so I ended up including a small bowl of oatmeal to go along with it. But everything else worked P.E.R.F.E.C.T.L.Y. and kept me full all day and night. Okay, just to put that in perspective: I'm a 250 lb man... so when I say this meal plan is satisfying, It means something.

This reads as unrealistic spam. Very few people are allergic to one let alone two foods. Gluten would make you celiac and dairy would be lactose, the fact that wasn't said suggests to me this comment is either entirely false or the person is lacking alot of understanding.

@@eastcoast4233 I have an inflammatory response to many foods. Eggs create gastrointestinal upset, dairy gives me migraines, and meat and fish of any kind inflamed my joints. Ive never done anything like this but I’m suffering so badly from chronic inflammation. I’m always so swollen, puffy, bloated, tired, etc. I made a grocery list, prepared all the meals just like you said, and I started my intermittent fasting as well. Let me just say that coming from a Mexican background the foods I bought, and the way you put them all together was odd for me,to say the least, but I am so desperate I continued on. Today I ate my prepared meals and was shocked at how much I enjoyed them!!! I love all the flavors and the way everything was combined. All my family wanted to try it! I've made it to day 5, and am feeling well! I have added some protein to a couple of the meals - one night I had a small piece of salmon, another night tuna, and a couple times diced avocado. I am trying to eliminate taking pain killers for arthritis, and this seemed like a good place to start. I have also added an intense stretching program that I think is helping too. I wanted to address some of the other comments here. If you are not a regular cook, my advice is you need to add extra time to this meal prep. I'm guessing Lacey's idea was having everything prepped before you start cooking & putting this all together - like veggies all cleaned & cut-up, lemons squeezed, etc. Have all your spice containers out, measuring items at the ready, etc. Know & have ready all your containers that the prepared foods will go into, and ready the space in your frig to receive these items. And I'd also suggest you go shopping ahead of time, like on another day. I started this on Monday of this week, and went to the store in the morning ... then came home & started cooking. Because I hadn't done any of this other prep ahead, this took me much longer than 1 hour & 45 mins. I had had my morning smoothie before going to the store, but lunch was really delayed! But I will know better next time! I also have a question: I thought the plan for anti-inflammation is to eliminate refined carbs from the diet. Are quinoa & wild rice acceptable in this definition? Thank you Lacey! I love your videos & advice ... I'm going to attempt your 7-day plan next, and probably your 30-day too!
@nancyfahey75182 жыл бұрын
The sweet potatoes, bananas, rice and others have high carbs. This is not a low-carb meal but an antiinflamatory. I'm gonna try it. But I live with 2 other adults. I'm gonna have to figure them into the equation. And then watch them eat their junk food with it. Wow, I may have a resentment somewhere.

Idk if it's just cause everybody is different but I have fibromyalgia which is alot like arthritis. I have found over the years that I can have thin skin potatoes like red or white potatoes as long as I don't indulge too much. Also premade frozen potatoes don't bother me. I think it has something to do with the starch or glycemic index in them? There's a potato diet & supposedly, if you parboil or parbake the potatoes & then refrigerate, it changes the carb content in the taters. Also I can't have quinoa, wild rice, brown rice or long grain rice. Jasmine rice, med grain rice or sushi rice doesn't affect me. I've been dealing with all this & doing the elimination diet over 20 yrs now & gees it's a literal pain but little by little I realize what I can & cannot have. Giving up tomatoes & cucumbers has been the hardest for me. It's been just recently actually that I've had to tell them bye-bye cause cuke n mater salad with thin sliced purple onion and a dressing of evoo & lime juice poured over then add salt, pepper, cilantro & toss...omg one of my most favorite dishes in the world & ima foodie so giving this up has been so hard! I gave up Dr. Peppers, smoking, alcohol, pizza, burgers & fried foods years ago but knowing that there are supposed healthy foods ive had to eliminate as well has been so hard. Just not fair but I prefer being pain free. Nuts & seeds don't bother me at all. I can't have regular oats, I have to get organic or gluten free. No nitrates. Low sugar is a must but I can have some because I'm hypoglycemic 🙄 ugh. My diet is a mess but I'm getting all figured out & that's my point here in this novel (sry) is to each their own. We all have to & must figure out what foods to avoid. It's such a flipping hassle when you love food. In my older age I'm being to have a love/hate relationship with food cause something that was once fun to me (grocery shopping, cooking, eating) is now causing me grief & I do not like it. I find myself eating gf oats with banana... smoothies... SALADS... & flax wraps with vegan content more than anything else. I just really don't even enjoy cooking anymore. My food luster has dwindled down to very little these days because of this illness.

I need to make big changes and it's hard!! I already take fish oil, turmeric, vit D, a multivitamin, and have for 10-20 years.

I removed all nightshades from my diet for a year, due to joint pain. That included white potatoes, eggplant, tomatoes, and all peppers ( not black pepper-- that's different). After one year, I was able to reintroduce potatoes and tomatoes in moderation; I can have them 2-3x/week. But I can't do peppers of any kind at all, no matter how mild. Your mileage may vary.

When we have certain ingredients these can be used different ways so the appearance & taste are different. The way I see it is, you prepare a whole week's meal for convenience so when you get home hungry and with no energy or desire to start preparing and cooking dinner (or lunch for the next day) you end up ordering out or eating unhealthy fast food instead. If you can't eat food that has been cooked and refrigerated for more than two days, then go ahead and cook daily. But you should not eat at restaurants or order out because most restaurants use pre cooked food or portions of the food, which may have been frozen for days, if not months.

I did a chia pudding for breakfast but followed your recipes for lunch, dinner & snacks. This is some of the most delicious food I've ever eaten! Thank you for sharing.

Do you have any idea meals that are good for the immune system
@laceybaier_5 жыл бұрын
Ooh good question! Anything with garlic, ginger, lemon, citrus, and broccoli are all good foods to boost immunity. Have you checked out my broccoli meal prep video?

Use veg stock or water for the chickpeas. Kale, collards, turnip greens, beet greens also

I so wanted to try this. I’m a good cook, but this menu was too intense too soon. I made the full menu, but could not eat this food. First of all, absolutely no meats. I hate the taste of turmeric and ginger. Chic peas never got crispy ...kale is the sister of plastic wrap. I’m not giving up. Will try getting used to these foods more gradually. Familiar with spinach, just don’t think I’ll ever be able to eat it for breakfast . All this type of food is deja vu of the 1960s health food mania, when moms made disgusting whole wheat birthday cakes for their kids because it was ‘healthy’

I use Monksfruit as sweetener, am I right in assuming that this is much less inflammatory than sugar?

Errrr.... you have to avoid grains during the AIP diet dont you? This meal plan doesnt consider that :(

Yep I thought we needed to avoid grains for inflammation? I love a lot of the other ideas here, just not sure about grains.
@thefryinator77744 жыл бұрын
Quinoas not a grain luckily, but yeah, maybe just sub the rice for more quinoa? I know it's a seed and it's rich in protein which is good. Idk much about it yet though. Just starting my research for my anti-inflammatory diet journey

Even some of the seasons can cause inflammation in some.

Can’t wait to give this a try. I will need to work more protein into this diet though. I lift weights 6 days a week and a higher protein diet is needed for the muscle growth I working towards.

Jessica Hunter Several recipes, in fact many, whilst seem tasty and are nutritious aren’t at all helpful for those with mild to severe inflammation / AID issues. So yep misleading like several decent but poorly informed you tube channels

These are so good 😊 they don’t look as delicious as they actually taste. My favourite is the potato with salad, the contrast of warm potato and cold salad is amazing. I also love the protein balls and the smoothie.

Sounds wonderful. The only thing which is a no no is the tomatoes. It is important that if you have an inflammatory problem you have to cut all the Deadly Nightshade fruits from your diet. These include potatoes, (sweet potatoes are not in this group so that's fine) tomatoes, capsicum, chilli peppers and brinjals. These are all inflammatory; especially tomatoes and chilies. But the rest sounds great. Thank you for this video.
