I’ve kept chickens since I was a kid so I’m so happy to see you make chicken content!😆 I will say, I’ve learned that the best way to prevent an aggressive rooster is just to leave them alone from chick to adult, the more you handle them, the more that will tend to show aggression. Another thing is the dance that he does with the hens is basically just him trying to impress the girls, it’s a mating dance.

I’ve raised bantam chickens and my rooster, Hector, was my favorite! As a teacher I took him to classes to talk about chickens. He learned to step into a bird harness so I could take him outside to walk around and poop. In the coop with the hens, he was the alpha. With me, I was the alpha and he loved me. ❤️

Loved this video Harli! I just got chickens again this spring after not keeping them for a while. Had them for about 20 years before though. LOVE them. My first rooster was a silkie and he was SO mean. My mother in law dubbed him “Lucifer” and the name stuck. I loved watching him take care of the flock. 💕 I agree, the bigger roos scare me a bit! Right now I have 11 hens and absolutely love keeping them. They just started to lay and it’s so exciting to check the nest boxes every day. Like Christmas morning as a kid😂

Ive always wanted chickens but never had the room. Well, we just bought our first house and it has half an acre. So, im finally able to have chickens! Unfortunately we can only have 6 in my city and no roosters. But, im super excited! This was perfect timing for me. Thanks Harli! ❤

Love your coop! Also the color of the egg completely depends on what the chickens are eating! I used to give my chickens a mash made of wheat, barley, peas, and sunflower seeds. And I was concerned when the egg yolk was very pale, but when I switched feed to a corn based mash their yolk completely changed into this beautiful dark yellow. And the color does not affect the health benefits btw.

Since you enjoy having animals, I thought you would enjoy Cog Hill Family Farm. They take such good care of their animals and give advice. There is also Mrs. Coghill and a channel for kids. Jason from Cog Hill hasn't done a kid's one in a while, but your sons might enjoy it. I saw a few myself.

23:17 I wonder if you could add Mosquito Bits to their water to help with mosquitos? I don’t have chickens so I wouldn’t know the first thing lol but the instructions say you can use it in ponds and bird baths. Just a thought!
