So at first I was like, okay this looks easy, then when I started doing the twists and they looked a hot mess I was like, "why am I doing this?!" But I kept on with the tutorial and I was like, oh this is it? This is easy! Just takes some practice and patience. Thanks for the vid. I feel all proud of myself and what not.

Wow thank you. I plan to use this technique to hang a welded stained glass piece my son made in his welding class. It has no hook or hole to hang and he told me it wasn't safe to weld on it again as it's lead and they had him slather on a coating to prevent lead poisoning at home. Thanks!

Pardon the pun, but you're a "rock"star! I've had 8 hand/wrist surgeries and my dexterity isn't what it used to be. I have all these beautiful stones waiting to be used, just sitting in a drawer. The other cabochon tutorials are frustrating. Your method is easy & quick, but with a stunning result. Can't wait to try. I know I can manage this w my hand limitations. Thank you soooo much!

That little tip on getting the angles right to keep your twists symmetrical at 2:00, is important, even if it's such a little thing. Learned about that for making safety wire ties on aircraft bolts. The skill translates nicely.

@@Ryan-zp6of, yeah, I rescued a spool that was going to be thrown in the trash for having been left out in the rain and started corroding. I cleared off the outer windings with the corrosion and the rest was still in good shape. Since then I've made wire helicopters, a paratrooper, other various shaped art, plus a wire art silhouette of an old anniversary picture of my parents and gave them as a gift. Still have some of that roll left somewhere.

Thank you for your effort in helping to demonstrate wrapping. As a true beginner, a zygote, I wish you had described what the term "bail" was. This video is more for intermediate wrappers, as the term "bail" wasn't described before it was referred to midway through the video.

Bail is the little loop at the top of the pendant that you would put the chain through in order to wear it.

I'm an amateur and have a devil of a time making that circle nice and straight, so I've had a lot of luck using a socket wrench. Once I decide how big I want the loop to be (depending on the size of the stone), I wrap it around the socket instead of freehanding it. This way I can have the wrench on the table and hold it while I twist. It makes that part super easy to get just right.

Even using deadsoft wire, you need STRONG FINGERS to hold the wire where it needs to be held or you will find yourself VERY frustrated. I gave up since I clearly do not have the hand and finger strength to hold the wire where it needs to be held in place. You make it look WAY easier than it is.

I looked at the Amazon link you shared for similar cabachons. I believe you said the cabachon you used was 1.25 inches. Amazon has their cabachons described in millimeters & there are so many different sizes described in millimeters so I'm not sure what size in millimeters to order. I would be so grateful if you would let me know what size in millimeters to purchase so I may try my hand at wire wrapping. Who knows... I may opening myself up to a whole new world of beading.
