Thanks buddy! This is exactly my solution as well, except I wanted to go outside through a city water inlet (with one way valve removed) through a hose to a converted water tank. My trailer is tiny. Hadn't worked out the hardware yet and wasn't sure a garden hose diameter would let the water drain fast enough. Saved me some time!

When you said you were just using the cold, I thought, ahh cover the hot too! We did the same with our washer

Haha. I did the same thing. Didn’t plug the hot side on my cold only system and had a major leak. I added a shut off valve and just have it turned off and hanging from the supply line. Good work.

So an easy tip to help make it fool proof for not getting tanks switched. On your quick connects put male on one tank female on the other when and if possible. I do this any time I hook up multiple tanks for a project, I also do it with 12v wiring that has to have removable connections to keep from crossing positive and negative on hook up

Not sure if those hose quick connects are unidirectional or not, but it might be worth putting the male side on one tank and the female side on the other tank, that way you can't accidentally hook up the grey water tank to the pump.

Well, great to have a muscle man to lift out that gray water when it's full. Works for you but not so much for ladies. Like the concept, wondering if alternative location might work. Also wondering if you could run freshwater intake to exterior of camper with a cover. Ditto the drain of the gray water tank. Now that would be AWESOME. Oh, and another thought, hot water tank or bladder on the roof, sunny heats it, no need for extra heating, gravity fed. Obviously you would have additional gray water tank for that.

I was trying to figure how to hook up to the same kind of fresh water tank. Thanks for the info. Btw, I had the same problem with using a hot/cold faucet but went to the plumbing supply and just got a cap to screw on the hot inlet because I didn't want the hose attached and hanging down as it would hold water and be a problem when freezing weather comes. LOL, fortunately I thought about that before trying to run water thru it.
@NiSiSuinegEht3 жыл бұрын
You might want to consider hooking the hot side up to a splitter on the pump outlet, that way you get maximum flow regardless of the handle's temperature position. You can always remove the splitter later when you get hot water.

here's my 2 cents.... run another quick connect line to outside for the gray water (set up tank outside or run onto the ground)....use both tanks for fresh water and add another line off the pump for a portable propane tankless water heater for the outside shower.

@oldtimerlee88203 жыл бұрын
Make up a Y connector to connect the fresh water hose to the sink faucets. When you winterize, just disconnect the hose from the Y to drain. You don't run the risk of forgetting to uncap the line on the hot water side, as you have it now. Don't ask me how I know that hot water side capped hose with water in it will burst when it freezes.

@imlon23 жыл бұрын
lol I did catch it. I laughed cause I knew what happen... Also it would have been easier to attache the barb to the pump first then hook the hose and then clamp it so you didn't have to flip the hose around trying to screw in the barb to the pump. I haven't gotten to the water being turned on yet. But I'm guessing the leak at the beginning of the video was because the Hot water line was not hooked up or capped.
@imlon23 жыл бұрын
LOL knew it.. You could have done a T and connected both the Cold and Hot water to the main hose, it should give you more pressure, if you need it that is.

Bluetti is neat but yesh that thing is not cheap. You should build a DIY version using Optima batteries and a standalone inverter. You'd get DAYS worth of battery life not hours. You could wire it up to 12v aux in the trailer plug to charge off your vehicle or use any generic solar panel as well. Just food for thought. Love your content.

Great video! I'm having a hard time with my sink bowl drainage in my cargo trailer camper conversion 3rd time it's broke on me at the bottom of the sink, when i'm tryring to disconnect the grey water to the container. My setup is just have a pvc pipe going straight into my grey water container like yours, but no quick connects. My facet is simple just one those hand pump ones that you move the lever back and forth to have water. I don't know what i'm doing wrong..

dude do you have full walk through pictures? I really like your design. I've got a prototype sketched out that's similar to this in many ways. Only difference is I plan on only having a full size murphy bed. It'll be side ways though. When it folds up it will have a wrap around couch underneath it. And a marine style table that can pop up from the floor. My thought was I can keep a lot of storage space, have a nice lounge and dining area, and I'd get to have a set bed that requires minimal set up. Also toyed with the idea of having a thinner twin size murphy bed that would be hidden under by the main bed until it's pulled down. Also since I don't want a wet-bath, I'm planning on having the toilet pull out and under it would be the shower basin and use salon doors so they swing shut when it's pulled out, but fold against the wall when it's pushed in. Also I haven't purchased the trailer yet. I want a 12 by 7 but I think my design would be easier to do with a 14 by 7. One thing I'm confused about is if the v nose counts towards the length. If it does then I'll need the 14ft by if not I think I could make the 12ft work with like a 48" nose.
@HAXMAN3 жыл бұрын
I’m going to do a full walk through soon. I’ve got to replace the ac first. The v doesn’t count in the length but I would recommend the 14’. I wish I had those two extra feet.

I’d recommend a slightly smaller fresh water tank to ensure you never overflow your grey water tank. This would also ensure you didn’t mix them up. Alternately you can cut the freshwater feed tube a bit shorter so it can never fully empty. Switching the male to female quick connect on one would also prevent accidental swapping of the fresh and grey water hookups.
@robertapreston42002 жыл бұрын
