Emma, this is a stunning quilt and a beautiful heirloom. I almost feel your pride in watching. I love your design and the way that the petals showcase each choice of liberty fabric used. They stand on their own, but at the same time, compliment each other in the overall look. The multiple varied- sized borders set everything off perfectly. The borders give our eyes a place to rest as we soak up the pleasure we feel looking at the exquisite liberty fabrics. This quilt is so unique and special. I can’t wait to see the next part of the video. What a beautiful touch it will be for you to hand quilt this one, nothing but the best for this quilt. I get what you mean about surrounding yourself with things that bring you joy and comfort during the dark days and nights of winter. With the time change here, it is starting to get dark at 5:00pm. I was so bummed when you mentioned that the medallion came from an English shop. Sometimes my brain does not always work :-) so thank you so much for mentioning that you can use any fabric for the middle. I had an aha! moment and remembered that I do have a really nice piece of fabric that I can use for a similar project, albeit on a smaller scale. Your quilt looks so fresh. Can't wait to see the finished project.
