Simple farmhouse living with cozy cottagecore! Farmhouse Restorations have begun on our 200 year old house. Be sure to subscribe and follow our journey as we restore our old farmhouse and bring it back to how it would've looked when it was built in 1807. We do everything ourselves from diy renovations, home repair, construction and remodeling. We are drawn to a simple, cozy, cottagecore lifestyle and surround ourselves with antiques, books and old-fashioned living inspired by Beatrix Potter and Tasha Tudor. There is so much work to do on the farmhouse including bedroom makeovers; painting; redoing the bathrooms and interior decorating. The projects are endless and there are sure to be lots of surprises along the way! Our names are Jenny and Mathew, and we can't wait to welcome you to this beautiful place!

When I was little,(I'm 68,) I would go to my Great Aunt and Uncle's dairy farm.It was a saltbox home. No bathroom inside A water pump was in the kitchen. All their water for everything came from that water pump. The simplicity of their home made it so cozy. The big kitchen was so inviting. And the smell of smoked meats permeated the house. Oh how I think of that place all the time.❤

I think there's definitely a connection to loving old houses and antiques , and as for the garden and nature , the two go hand in hand , when you work in a garden you cant help but be in awe of the beauty you see around you the life around you is so uplifting and nothing is more healing to your soul than to have your hands in the soil , it conects you to mother nature and and to all the people who have worked that soil , and ho gosh the joy when you find a shard of brocken crockery or a rusty key or coin a conection to who has loved that house before , yes its all connected ❤

Oh my... using the curio cabinet as a miniature doll house is absolutely charming!!!! What a great Idea! I am 73 and my mother gave me two of those China head dolls made in Germany years and years ago. It is a couple, and the man has a suit made of burgundy velvet, and her dress is a mini print with the matching color. I usually only bring them out at Christmas. My favorite Little Women is also the one with Wynona Ryder. Wow, your property is amazing, and your love of animals is a definite calling. I do love gardening and old homes, and anything cottagy. I wish I had an old home but I don't. But I am grateful I have a safe, peaceful, paid for home, that I have been in for 52 years this year. I too love old homes, vintage books, textiles , raw wood furniture, mason jars filled with spring flowers, old quilts and art and brass candle holders with dripping wax. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... take me back.

We live in a 1760 house and LOVE antiques, gardens…all the same things you treasure. I just sit and stare at the antiques and think about all those who have felt the same in generations before us…and many were made by people who just needed a piece for a special place in their home! Now I’m honored to have it! Your home is beautiful!

There is most definitely a common thread and all of these things have touched my heart for many years! If I can’t find what I’m looking for in the “old sense,” I will do my best to transform it into a very old antique look. I have gone through books and magazines to see some very old items out for show, but it’s good that we can put them into good use today! Your joy and love for the old ways shines through your voice. It’s so wonderful to read about everyone’s love for the old style of living and collecting!

Love everything about your channel! I adore your kitchen. It’s always overwhelming come spring time especially way down in the south. So after Christmas I start doing my early spring cleaning. I want to be outside when it starts to warm up. Cleaning the beds & planting flowers & vegetables. Washing windows & doing all the things that it takes to keep a home beautiful! Nothing like living in the country setting on the porch watching the cows & Gods beauty! 🪴

I love everything you mentioned and showed! Sometimes I get a feeling that I lived a previous life in the 1800's lol. I don't exactly believe in reincarnation yet I get that strong feeling about that time frame. I also believe that most of the time the old ways are the best ways. Glad I found your channel. Hello from our family farm in Central ⛵⛵ Lakes Region New Hampshire! What is better than a Corgy? Two Corgies! What a lovely house restoration. You have preserved the history and character. Our grandparents 1800s farmstead sits on our 350 acres. It is on the historical register. Our cousin in CA owns it and keeps it in order.. The main farm could be 1900s. We just built a new cottage at the base of the farm in 2016. I have modernized it to 1935. We have a 1930 Home Comfort kitchen wood stove, a 1928 Hoosier baking cabinet and so forth. That is the era I can manage. I enjoy our occasional blizzards that take the power out when our wood stove is heating the kitchen. I can just imagine how it was to live without electricity. We found the home of my/his/our dreams 4 yrs ago this July, its' a 1920 farmhouse in a quiet town of 900+ peeps and the house has a huge wraparound front porch, side porch off of dining room and a 12x18 back deck and the peeps and town are perfect for our small town vibes :)

I agree 100%, that there is that connection between loving old houses and gardening, antiques, etc. We have been living in our 110 year old brick farmhouse for the past 36 years, and wouldn't want to be anywhere else 😊 Your doll cabinet is just darling and before the words came out of your mouth, I thought, Little Women! In 2022, my 38 year old daughter and I visited Louisa May Alcott's family home, in Concord Massachusetts and what an emotional experience that was for the both of us - we felt it, as soon as we stepped foot on the property. Sorry I'm a little late, had a really crazy week last week & weekend. Traveled back to our hometown in NC, one of my BIL's is very sick, not doing well. Got back home money night, leaving to go back down late this evening. Trying to catch up on my videos! There really are alot of kindred spirits here, with the love of old cottages, farm houses, farms, and especially old things like antiques. I love them all!😊 I'm Obsessed with the doll house, its just precious! Lol.. love the little chamber pot, so cute😉 Oh... congrats on almost 4k!! You'll be there in no time, and I'm thrilled to be a part of your Utube family😊 Such a beautiful & special place/home for the animals. And Its A beautiful home for your family as well! We lived on 40+acres back in NC with 3 ponds, we had 9 chicken coops, and pet chickens running the yard lol, we had a goat, 2 pastures with horses.. my son grew up with a fishing pole, rifles & shotguns as he was a avid hunter and we kept a well stocked freezer and didn't buy much meats. We had 4wheelers, tractors & such, a big hay field (we harvested & sold hay) I absolutelyLOVE my flowers, i always have tons on my porch, in my yard.. don't get enough light inside. Yes I definitely miss what we once had🥹 But the kids grew up and have their own families and God has called us elsewhere to do a ministry which we love! When we visited back home last week my son came up from Florida, his uncle took him fishing.. he was super excited! And his wife & little girl saw some of his roots😊 So Yes I'm definitely a lover of any & all old fashion everything! I collect all the old things as well! We've been looking at a few older homes, hope to buy something soon! Yes.. We do have that common thread my friend😊 Thanks for sharing your beautiful land!!

Love antiques & everything that is associated with them, oh by the way in Flint Michigan there is some stores there that sell a lot of miniature doll house furniture, miniature dolls & all the things associated with doll house, we went there when my girls were small (you can spend a fortune there). Not sure if the stores are still there but it was just amazing to visit.
