Enjoyed the video! My husband and I had to add new soil to all our flower beds, had it delivered from a garden store from across the Hwy. from us, Free delivery, and we live 20 miles from the nursery capital ( lots of Plant nurseries) our 6 packs Of seeds was $2 each for 6. We have 2 raised gardens, got tomatoes 🍅 bell peppers 🫑 eggplant 🍆 6 ea. Planted green beans on the outside of the raised box and we have a trellis for them, The smaller raised bed has okra and white squash, seeds are up, for green beans, squash and okra. Sowed directly into the garden. Have lots of flower seeds coming up in the beds, I traded some of mine with others. It’s fun!! My front flowerbed across the house is 108 feet across, it’s curvy. The back is 72 feet long, all knockout roses 🌹 🌹 , they are in full bloom, loaded! Wish I could send a picture. My poor husband Bobby worked so hard to get everything done. He’s cleaning the siding all around the outside and the porches now. That man is such a hard working man. 60 hrs. A week at his job and all this other work around the house! Love my our home, love our gardens, I guess we love hard work and a beautiful yard! Blessings to you all!!

Maybe the potatoes were seed potatoes 🥔, haha 😂. If you put a peeled potato in something with to much salt the potato absorbs the salt/sodium; when we “helped” mom cooking sometimes we used to much salt, oops. Tri-purpose potatoes: eat some, plant some and use one to lower the sodium in marina sauce.

Hi Emmy and Paul. You know that Dixie is the star of your channel. I started my seeds in mid March. I thought I was so clever “ inventing” those repurposed greenhouses. I also use lettuce, strawberry containers as well and save the cardboard egg cartons. My problem that I have is that I forget to label what I had planted. I’ve been repotting my seedlings into bigger containers and the majority of my seedlings are still inside. I did plant my kale, lettuce, radishes and beets and started a potato container garden. Space is at a premium for my garden so I am plastic repurposed containers, poking holes and attaching the pot on my wooden fence using zip ties. Putting in mesclun greens in there. I was so happy to see 2 broccoli rabe plants ready to harvest. Enjoy this time.

Oh my gosh I love Broccoli Rabe! I never thought to grow it! Thanks so much!

I'm planning to get some seeds/plants soon. We are low-income and qualify for SNAP benefits which can be used to buy seeds and plants (must be for vegetables or other edibles such as herbs). We've done the three sisters method in our community garden when we lived in Arkansas and it did well. I forgot how often you have to check that squash. Miss a few days and you have a baseball bad-sized squash before you know it (that is terribly inedible). But I bet if you had it in your own yard it would be easier to check it each day. That summer I had a young, very active toddler and found out we were expecting #2, so I didn't make it over everyday becasue, mom duty comes before gardening, I guess. But our garden was very fruitful and we were able to not only feed ourselves, but our church (where we planted the garden) also used much of the produce to supplement our soup kitchen ministry.

HI Emmy and Paul! I am binge watching your videos while baking today. I got an over abundance of eggs so I'm try to use them up. Anyway, this video played and I thought your Strawberry Oat bars sounded good. I had all the ingredients to make them sugar free. OMG. They are delicious! We are trying to cut sugar out of our diets and are trying to be gluten free so I used Truvia brown sugar and Pyure instead of the sugar. I used an almond, flax and coconut flour blend instead of the flour. They are still warm and I have been sneaking a bite here and a bite there. I hope they will last for my husband to have some! LOL I will definitely make these again!
