That big square mic with muffler is too noticeable. I want to record directly into the camera and don't want to do all the work of a H1N recorder. Can I put this rode mic in my pocket and connect a Lav mic into it and put that on my collar?

Absolutely! If you want a sleeker look, definitely go with the Rode Lav mic. The Rode Wireless Mic transmitter has an audio input for you to add any 3.5mm jacked microphone

great review, thanks. i was wondering how long the battery lasts? Also, with a long video of like 20 minutes does the audio ever get out of sync with the video, you know lip sync?

The audio should never get out of sync with the video as long as you are editing the same fps timeline as you shot the video in. I have left the battery on for over 3 hours and never had a problem with recording time.

There is really only one adapter that works with gopro unfortunately.

Great questions! I actually left it on the default settings. When I plugged in the Rode Go, I didn't change any settings. I was using a Hero 6 also so when I plugged in the mic to the coverter, it didn't give me an option to adjust the audio, it just received it through though connection

boilednuts You could use more than one transmitter if you had a Y-splitter for the red audio input cable. I’ve seen many videos do range tests and it varies between 70-90 meters!! That’s a huge distance but that’s also direct line of sight

Anytime you shoot something where the audio is important, I think its always a great idea to back up the audio! The Tascam DR-10L is a good device for that but it is a bit cumbersome for some applications.

Sorry I am just now seeing this comment, but Ive never used the battery until it died before charging it again. The longest Ive used it before recharging was for 2 days on and off. I know that isnt very specific but I hope that helps a little.

@@besthelpinhindi1290 I have used the wireless mic system for so many different ideas. I love that it is simple to use, has long range and gets so much better quality than my iphone, canon g7xii and sony a6400 and of course the gopro mics are pretty bad

Arran Stewart Ah yes. The Rode mic kit is the receiver, transmitter, 2 wind muffs, the red cable, and a soft case to carry it all

@@Ryansacrobat Another KZbinr did a comparison and the internal mic on the GoPro sounded good but only if you were super close to it. Nothing beats RODE.
