Hello. London calling. I’ve been watching your various best of the year videos. What I would like to tell you, is that as far as my makeup is concerned your posts have been the very best of the year for me. I might not be able to access all of the products but your techniques have changed and enhanced all that I do with my face treatments and cosmetics. I have learned so much from you that I feel like a different person. Fully revitalised and restored. Thank you so much.

I'm 33, but have pretty deeply hooded lids, where the crease comes below the lower lash line, you're the best at explaining how I can work with what I've been given. It also is very helpful how you describe different types of hooded lids in some of your videos, it helps me identify who I'm watching and if that technique will even match me! Lovely! Also you're beautiful and I personally think hooded eyes look way sexier for lack of a better word - sultry maybe? Yeah, anyway, thanks for your content!! I'd love a video about liner on hooded eye shapes! Or maybe you have one already I haven't come across - I noticed in one video you tightlined to a point and then regular lined over the lashes the rest of the way - I bet you have lots of tips on liner
@TheHoodedLid Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much - and I love that you have embraced and love your hooded lids! We all should! I do have a a video on winged liner and another on a winger liner "stamp." Just go to my main page and sort by "popularity" the liner video is up there! I hope it's helpful to you!

I too love to experiment and play prior to washing my face at night. It reduces the anxiety of messing up and sometimes leads to happy, unexpected results. It is super helpful to watch you explore new techniques. Ever since I saw Caroline Barnes latest masterclass on hooded eyes, I have wondered what that might look like on you. Of course, I have been experimenting with it prior to washing my face. It is similar to your looks in the elongation of the outer v, but incorporates shading under the lower lash line and generous mascara.
@TheHoodedLid3 жыл бұрын
I don't care for lower lash line shading on me. I find it called attention to the darkness under my eyes (and my puffiness) and makes them look smaller. I'll do it once in a while, but it's not a "go to" look for me. I feel the same way about mascara. I actually like many looks without mascara, I feel it looks much softer and less made-up on me.

You have an amazing amount of total eye space, I would use a lighter transition color bringing it further up closer to the brow, then go in with a normal transition color, then darker, etc. I also wonder if you didn't bring ANY transition color onto your lid (except for the very outer corner) if that wouldn't allow you to lighten the lid better giving contrast and making your lid space appear bigger? Because once you darken it even with just a transition shade it's almost impossible to lighten... Often as we age the skin on top of the eye starts to hang over in the inner corner area and to camouflage we can bring the light shimmer right over top of that skin (using your finger works perfectly) Nisha at Sugar Puff & Fluff is a master at doing this and most don't realize that's what she's doing. Pat McGrath shades are beautiful but I don't think they're made to be standalone especially with aging eyes! The pink definitely suits you 💗 Fyi- always use a magnifying mirror (5x Simple Human) with a 2nd normal mirror and go back & forth. Just thought I'd share!! 🤍

I'm interested in trying this technique. I already have the Cle du Peau concealer so I don't need to purchase it. Yay! I have not tried it as a primer. As for the Pat McGrath, I only order from Sephora now. The delayed shipping and the fact that some items have come broken because they were not packed well are the reasons I stopped ordering directly from the PM website. I want her new palette, but I want to see some demos/reviews first.

Let me know how the Cle de Peau works for you. I feels it's a bit heavy under the eyes but on the eyelids it's amazing!

Pretty look. I use Too Faced Glitter Glue for all shimmer shades right before I put them on, and it locks them on to prevent transfer. I still have oily face and lids at 63 so I use Cover Girl Lid Lockup, set with powder all over the lid prior to applying any shadows, anywhere, on the lid, but still use Too faced glitter glue if doing an all matte look. I have a passion for eyeshadow and I have tried many different things, cheap and expensive, to come up with this fail safe formula for me.

I don't! I'll often get concealer on my eyes and powder that or smooth is out before going on with shadows. If my lids are particularly red, I'll use a dryer concealer on them and then powder since I don't like a a sticky base for shadows.

Asian chicks perfected using a silicon sticker in their crease. I don’t know if the pulling t9 get it off is a great idea, but it looks hella effective. My Dad had an RCAF military career of deep-sea diving, sea survival training, & air flight search & rescue work. His eyelids were really bothersome for him & I recommended surgery, because they literally folded so that he could’t see. Veterans Affairs covered it for him, because it impaired his ability to read & drive. It hurt like hell for a week, but he looks fantastic & he says he douse not feel facially & eye-strain sleepy from trying to hold his eyes unnaturally wide enough to be able to read or drive.

I use eyelid tapes on just my right eye because it’s way more hooded and a different shape than my left and it evens them out so they look the same. Love it.

Lots of good tips here today thank you. I have this palette and have recently purchased a few mirrors so I’ll give it a go. I find the No5 Wayne Goss brush (from his edit collection, now available for purchase individually) is just amazing to get that straight on hands free blend section just perfect. I know you’re not a fan but I just had to share as I have the brushes you use (and find them helpful in their place too) but the No5 has been a game changer for me. My blending skills are crap and that brush is literally like a magic wand, it just comes in and fixes everything!!

@@TheHoodedLid I agree with Maddy, the Wayne Goss No5 brush from his edit collection is wonderful. I purchased the entire set before brushes were available individually. I've found uses for all of them but the No5 is amazing! The Cle de Peau concealer is the BEST ever eyeshadow primer. Been using for years! The SPF 25 is an added bonus. Love all the colors you used. That mirror is cute! I like the small size of it. Is it still made? I have to give a stretch to the skin. But another way to tackle it is using a brush that swipes the shadow out across the hood. So I don’t necessarily have to always hold the skin taut. I am liking Sonia G Jumbo Concealer. It’s good for pulling out shadows and cleaning up edges. Also nice for laying base powder and making the under brow shadow blend with transition shadow.
