The best way to remember the ranks of CO in the army is by tagging it 01-10, 01 being the lowest ranking officer "2nd lieutenant" and 10 being the highest "General". CO means commisioned officer 01-03 are Junior COs (1 star - "2nd lt", 2 star - "Lt", 3 star-"Captain") 04-06 are Senior COs (major, lt colonel, colonel) 07-10 are Generals

There are three categories/cadres (a warrant officer is not a NCO) 1. Non commissioned officers 2. Warrant Officers 3. Commissioned Officers

@@emmanuelokafor1172 BREAKING DOWN IN MORE DETAILS technically a private soldier is not a refered to as a non commissioned officer. Then LCPLs and CPLs are JNCOs. Sgts and Ssgts are SNCOs, WO2 and WO1 are Warrant Officers, then you have 2Lt, LTs and Capts as Junior Officers (Subarterns), Maj and Lt Cols are Senior Officers, Col and above are member of General staff (from brigadier above are General Star officers)

Thank you. The interesting part is that the Brigadier's salary is twice that of a Colonel, and the Major General's salary is twice that of a Brigadier. There is are steep jumps among those three ranks.

You missed out Army Warrant Officer AWO in the list of non commissioned officers. An AWO is higher than a MWO. It's the highest non commissioned officers rank. Tell us salaries of non commissioned cadre too. The pay is too poor

Nice video, although, better graphics is needed and a better background music. But nice video all the same. But don't you think what our soldiers and officers are been paid is a bit low and can negatively affect their moral? Also, if the nigerian army could do so much and end the wars in liberia and sierra leone, why's the war against islamic insurgency taking so long, since 2009 till now, we are talking about 15 years+.... Is there any PTSD programe for our men when they return from the battlefront or are they just made to go back to the baracks or civilian life.? Also, our veterans do they get priority medical care...? I mean they should considering all they've put into defending the country. Also, maybe I'm fixated with Hollywood war movies, but i see the USA soldiers and marines when engaging in tough combat, call for air strikes, but in nigeria why do these insurgents go onto attack our men, sack army bases, kill our soldiers in the most despicable way and yet no airforce in sight, sometimes air force show up but in most cases, they don't. I'm not sure you're the right person to answer this... 😊

Sargent is not a junior non-commission officer please Sergeant is a senior non-commission officer. Private soldiers is a rank after passingout from training school not 2-3 years. And all the salary you mention here are not correct pls. But it's welcome development to give insight information.
