In this online aptitude lecture, lets solve some more tougher aptitude problems on Simple Interest which appear in BANK PO, GATE,XAT, MAT and CAT exams.

2nd problem.. do it like p*3*r/100+360=p*3*(r+2)/100 =>360=p*3*2/100 =>360=6p/100 =>p=6000 to avoid lengthy process

Hi..Thanks for the videos, I'm easy able to understand concepts well here. It seemed a little interesting to use percentage concept directly, for last problem. So, I tried and it worked fine. Lets say 'P' as Principal amount. The amount (say A) we're gonna give is P+5% interest amount for 2 years.. So, A= 132 = P + (5% of P * 2) = P+(.05)2 P = 1.10 P P = 132 * (100/110) = 120

In the 1st question, the answer should be 12.5% rather than 6.25%. Just try calculating it, if the principal amount is 100. 100*.125*16=200(double). But 100*.0625.16=100, the same amount.

+praveen kumar Hi Praveen :) New Money = Principal + SI :) So , for the New Money to be double the Old money, we need the SI to be equal to the Principal amount :) The answer is 6.25% itself :) Just complete the calculations and find the final answer :) You will understand your mistake :)

+Peeyush Singh Hello Peeyush, I hav'nt solved it incorrectly. The problem that I solved was to "double" the money,not "triple" it. For "double" it will be 6.25% and for "triple" it will be 12.5% :) let me know if you got confused anywhere :)
