This song has sentimental value to me. Wow! Hearing it give me chills. 1980s whata time! Makes me thjnk of my brother and dad. May they be at peace. 🙏🏼 this song used to play at my dads old pizza shop. My brothers and i worekd n helped ouy in the 80s wheb my dad passed last nov. We talked and shared about thia song and how it reminded us of those days. So we added it to the playlist at my dads service. Then my brother passed 6 mths later and i think of it alot. Just tue i went into that old pizza place which is now a mariscos/mexican restaurant. It qas so wild to step foot in there after all these yrs. I been thinkibg of this song since then. My dad and brother are always with me. 🕊🕊

Man, I really wish I could go back to the 80's. It was a carefree time, where you didn't have smart phones & you played outside & got dirty. Their current "40 Years Of Hits World Tour" has been stymied (for now) by the virus, but they are still recording new tracks and albums. Robin Clark is an American vocalist known for her work as a vocalist on David Bowie's 1975 album Young Americans and Simple Minds' 1985 album Once Upon a Time. Clark was born in New York. In 1966, when Clark was 16, she and future singer and songwriter Luther Vandross worked together after school in the stockroom at Alexander's department store in the Bronx. They started singing together and then joined a 16-member group called Listen My Brother, which was managed by the owners of the Apollo Theatre.[1] Clark began dating Listen My Brother member and Puerto Rican guitarist Carlos Alomar, and they were married in 1970.Their daughter, Lea-Lorién Karima Alomar, is also a singer, songwriter and recording artist. Clark appeared with Vandross and Alomar on David Bowie's album Young Americans, and her backing vocals can be heard on the album's title song.

You should listen to Belfast Child, which is about a bomb attack in Northern Ireland by the IRA (Irish Republican Army). The melody is inspired by a traditional Irish folk song, the song itself is something different compared to the other two Simple Minds hits you've reacted to. That is what shows the versatility of the band, so really worth a listen! Especially by the story it tells and the great black and white video that accompanies the song!

Incredibly moving song, so glad you chose to cover this one! Simple Minds are an incredibly underrated classic band! New Gold Dream, The Big Sleep, Hunter And The Hunted, American, Someone Somewhere In The Summertime... such incredible works!
