Simple Minds of the early eighties is for me the best period, the best tracks.

I can't believe he was so young to come up with these themes . He must have ben a great , avid student of great world literature. Bryon ,Shelley , Wordsworth drip from every syllable ! Chrissie Hynde knew the passion of such a rockster and his great judgement !

Chrissie also was interested in the Big Thing that Jim apparently has

The very first time I had heard of Simple Minds was through reading a Jim Kerr interview in a music magazine that had taken place during this festival, and it had several photos from their gig, too 🙂

I often feel sorry for the other four band members when I hear Jim sing this bad again. He's a great performer but for some reason he couldn't keep tone or sing it like he did on the album recording. So sad.

It sounds great to me. He's in tune all the time. It's live remember and has the passion and innovation of a live performance. Improvisation is usual in a live performance.

you have a problem... he sings great here. He's got the sense of mood and improvisation. That's what I want from a live performance. Even Charlie adds variations on each live concert.

Uh..?! I prefer the live vocal performance of every track, I don’t want to hear the recorded version..!
