Such a step back from the 1.6t that used to go for $31K ex-demo. 33% minimum price increase for a worse car made in a worse plant.

Shrinkflation at its finest. It has been happening with cars for the past 10 years. Smaller engines for more money under the bs guise of climate change.

What a massive backwards step. And for $15k - $20k more I got mine a Oct 17 built in May 2018. PD i30 SR (before they changed to the N-Line model name) Got it for $28k drive away with the much, much, much better 1.6lt T-GDi. Nothing of great note has been offered over the previous. I was around the 5.8 - 6.2 lts per 100km, so fuel efficiency really doesn't make up for change. I think people should do themselves a favour, bypass this & get a i20N for cheaper, better performance, better fuel economy.
@aussiefurbymogwaifan6621Ай бұрын
Dose the i20n actually get better fuel economy??
@purplehazeffcАй бұрын
@@aussiefurbymogwaifan6621 Doing exactly the same driving to & from work plus around the town. I've seen as low a 4.5lt/100km. On average around 1lt per 100km less with the i20N. But a lot more fun to drive
@tonestar0183Ай бұрын
@@aussiefurbymogwaifan6621 yes but it's a completely different car in so many ways. From a fuel economy perspective I get better economy in my i20N compared to our Hyundai Elantra and Hyundai i30. But the i20N has all the pros and some of the cons of a "hot hatch". Awesome value for money and bang for buck is the i20N.

I still like the looks of it. Love how they keep with the physical buttons and not replace it with all that haptic crap. It’s a pity there’s no longer a spare wheel. I think I prefer the previous N line in my opinion or the Kia Cerato GT

I own a Kia that had that HVAC issue he mentions around 5:00. Not sure if the I30 has it but in my car there is a setting to turn off the "auto dehumidify" option, which eliminates the HVAC complaint he had. I don't see why it wouldn't have that because it has roughly the same infotainment as my car.
@marty8583Ай бұрын
Agree it is a backwards step. Have owned my PD SR with the 1.6T engine for 7 years (170,000 km) and still going strong, average consumption has been 6.2L/100km and all of that on either 91 or E10. Change for change sake to me.
@bens6674Ай бұрын
It's a shame that they're ruining what was a good thing. We hired a 2023 i30 Active hatch last year, and apart from the nasty synthetic leather wrapped steering wheel, I was left impressed. Fun to drive, high quality build, and the 2.0L went well and all for under 30K DA.

People underestimate the i30 line of cars that give already a lot in compared to SUV's And its SUV's that such awesome cars die and I cant recommend a Kona over such amazing machine. I want Australian to understand that the 2.0T version N Performance is not available anymore here in Europe as well as the i20N Australia is the only land that can still have the i20N and i30N,and its up to you people to have that option as its the last front like for these amazing cars. We in Europe here and UK can keep them,but for how long I dont know,the grim reality is that we wont see these awesome new models as they are already very popular. I drive a i30N Performance 2020 PFL Premium with Manual and dont think ill change to anything as to how awesome the car is in Simple design and Old school interior. As for the Interior I did add a Carbon Dash (2:35 like show here) to personally have my own taste in interior,and its this customized option that makes it awesome for Hyundai and its aftermarket options be it by Hyundai directly or by the Hyundai Community and people making awesome stuff for these cars. The i30N or N-Line are both amazing machines that I would personally recommend. Cant decide on the i30N with its 280HP? well there is the N-Line that is less power for bit less money.

I have two 2023 N-Lines and a 2019 PD. Hyundai were really perfecting their hatchbacks until this new release of vehicles. Such a shame.

If I had 40k+, a Mazda 3, Civic, or i30 sedan blows this out of the water for power and interior.

If the K4 keeps the old 1.6T and DCT combo, this is a huge free kick for Kia.

To me this is such a downgrade and not worthy of the N Line badge, the N/N Line cars are supposed to be sporty variants of Hyundai’s lineup of cars, we all know the N is the hardcore performance model and the N Line is the more warm performance territory (except the Sonata N Line is more or less on par with the N lineup), this engine is such a setback when compared to the 1.6T in the previous gen i30 N Line/Cerato GT, that engine was zippy and snappy and was really good for overtaking especially on highways and when you needed to give the car a good punch without being too excessive, this engine is gutless and struggles to keep up with the most basic of economy cars, even the 120kW/203Nm 2.0NA feels more potent than this. I feel like adding a sporty exterior isn’t enough to suffice this car as an N Line, and the infotainment and interior is carried over and you’re basically paying in the mid-30s for the exact same car with a gutless engine. For what Hyundai has achieved over the past few years, this unfortunately to me is a step backward.
@danielr3207Ай бұрын
That engine is an embarrassment for an "N-Line", add that to an ancient platform and an insane price means you wont see many on the road. i30 was amazing value and a great car back when it launch but its been neglected since then.

Looking at the reviews from a few different channel, they are mostly all positive. But looking at the comments, everyone is saying it is a big step back. 1.6t to 1.5t mild-hybrid. Increase in price but big cut in power.....😅 Why is it such a big difference
@danielr3207Ай бұрын
Car reviewers depend on cars being supplied to review or they don't exist. Cant be too negative even if the car deserves it.

I think everyone want's a car with 200hp or more and forget, that some people just want a normal car, wich is good looking and normal power. If you are interested, test it on your own. It doesn't matter wich car-video you are watching, the comments are always bad, when it's under 200hp. Here in Austria it's still the best car for that money (in my opinion). VW Golf, Skoda Octavia,... costs a lot more.
@Yamarist07Ай бұрын
Here in Austria it costs about 30k and it's a lot cheaper than other brands. Still don't get the hate in the comments. But of course, everything new is always bad. Not everyone want and need 200hp or more.

Yes I see just how much you painfully lament about those big ugly screens they are splashing in cars. I think they piss me off even more. I can't stand them. I actually wish even the instrument panel was of the analog type. Way classier, ages way better, just nice seeing that needle dance up and down. The lack of a spare tyre is also something I can't wrap my head around. Gives an uneasy sense of insecurity when you think about getting a puncture.
