From what I have seen from watching car reviews, it seems that there are a number of manufacturers who are dropping base models, forcing people to buy 'upmarket' in the model range at a much higher price. Again a vehicle without a spare wheel so, loss of interest on two points.

Good review. I own an i30 sedan Elite 2.0lt non-turbo. An MY22 with sports sequential 6-speed auto and I ran it in properly. I get a combined over 17,400 km 6.5L per 100km. On the highway 5.5L. City 7.4L. I wouldn't waste money on a hybrid. They are all getting dearer and giving less. You do an informative review better than any out there in my opinion. Plus giving comparing options between makes. Thank you. I think I'll keep mine. At 1,500 or 1 month free checkup, I got the oil and filter changed and sent 100ml to Nulon test labs. Up to 3,000 ppm of zinc, alloys, copper and other metals. The next change 6 months later dropped to around 15-30 ppm. That first 1-month change after bedding in the engine is needed for longevity. 2 years now and 5 oil changes, 1-2 ppm, it is good enough to cook with, haha.😁🤣 This adds to a good economy. It gets better than the factory figures of 5.6L for the highway, 10L for the city and 7L combined.

@@Bman1878 I bought one, who sits in their back seats 🤷🏻♂️ nothing wrong with the infotainment system as I’ve lived with the dial for 5yrs. It’s so easy but it’s not something I worry about.
@Bman1878Ай бұрын
@@davidrome6066 yeah, if you never need to use the back seats, the Mazda 3 is fine. But if you need a hatchback that you occasionally can actually put people in the back of sometimes, then it is not. Ages back I had a 2012 Kia Rio for a bit (to be clear, it's obviously a way more down market car than a Mazda 3) - but it was one of those Rio's that they used to make that only had two doors - which was fine for me, as a student who just wanted a cheap to own city car. But _occasionally_ I would need to put people in the back, and sure, it was a bit of a faff folding the seats forward to let people climb in and out of the back seat - but my point is it had _waaay_ better space for back seat passengers, and headroom than a Mazda 3, and as a two door, it really wasn't pretending to be for that purpose anyway. Out of all the hatchbacks out there, I'm genuinely shocked at how poor the Mazda 3s rear seat packaging really is. When I was at uni, I also worked as a sign writer, and the company I worked for did all the wraps and graphics for all the local car dealerships when they got new models in - anyway, as a result I was always (briefly) driving all sorts of vehicles to and from our workshop, and just as someone who likes cars in general, always had a decent poke around them. And yeah, the Mazda 3 was so surprising with its lack of room. There were way smaller cars that were more usable in the back. But yes, you're right, if you never need the back seat, who cares? And they _are_ definitely a very _nice_ and quite refined car. More European-esque than most other Asian models. But I personally do find their infotainment system comparitively crappy compared to most - like a worse version of the old BMW iDrive dial thing. But again, it still _works_ fine... And that's the end of my hot take 😆 For the record, I currently drive a 2019 Ford Endura GT-Line (pretty good car while they lasted here, but were never very popular) - but I'm going to fob it off soon just because I'm sick of driving an SUV thing. All of my favourite cars to drive that I've ever owned were sedans, so my SUV experiment will now come to an end Edit: oh just on a side note, I find a _lot_ of Mazda's interior packaging pretty terrible. Unsurprisingly the CX-3 (which is just a jacked up Mazda 3 really) is also terrible in back - probably _worse_ than the Mazda 3 somehow. The CX-30 is a _bit_ better, but again, waaaay too small in back considering it's comparitive size (and headroom sucks). The CX-5 in my opinion is only really OK in back. It's quite usable etc, but compared to other crossovers of the same size, it's back seat space is poor. Their larger models, CX-7, 8 and 9 are all fine. I've never been in the CX-60, so can't comment. The MX-30 thing they made is an absolute joke, but not just because of interior room. It's just a terrible vehicle in general and a waste of time. The MX-5 is a great little car. No back seats to worry about 😉

Hey matt, awesome vid, Hyundai i30, while marketed as a budget hatchback, falls short in terms of value for the price. For what it offers, not a fan for the price. Given the competition, particularly from the Toyota Corolla, the i30 feels like a bit of a letdown. In this price range, and also seems like Hyundai is putting all their cars with an N series badge on it just to put up the price, the Corolla offers better reliability and more features, making it a stronger option for budget-conscious buyers. But I can't believe this car would cause the same amount of fuel as my Mazda 3 2.0 when the MHEV i30 is now equipped with an efficient DCT plus a mild-hybrid system, while my Mazda 3 only comes with a conventional i-stop system (which I usually use it every day).

Of course a VW Golf Variant and a Skoda Octavia have a taller back seat, but they are really expensive cars. In my opinion, the I30 is still the best choice here in Austria.
