A great help to settle the stomach during flu is heavy syrup in canned peaches. This trick was given to my daughter years ago after their second trip (2nd illness) to the ER because my young grandson was so sick he had become dehydrated, couldn't keep anything down. He said to get canned peaches in heavy syrup (only heavy syrup) and give him 1 tablespoon. If he kept it down for 15 minutes, give him another one in 15 minutes. Continue this for an hour. If he kept it down for an hour and was feeling a little better, he could have 2 or 3 tablespoons at a time. I'm sure you could can peaches with a heavy simple syrup to keep on your shelf. It works, I used this when my son got food poisoning. When he had nothing left in his system, and had the dry heaves, it worked great. He was an adult and skeptical, but agreed to try it. He is a paramedic and was shocked that it worked! I always keep a couple cans on my shelf and cycle them out as needed.

The Norovirus is vicious! And I have heard from our pediatrician that it’s actually pretty resistant to any kind of medicine or vitamins. Basically if you’re gonna catch it, you’re gonna catch it. And you just have to let it run its course. I can’t imagine having 8 sick at once. You’re a superhero for getting through! Prayers for recovery!

Will continue to do this. Thank you for all the practical advice on getting creative with leftovers.

You could get some rest and much needed sleep, and I could rock her, snuggle her and just hug her, only time you’d hear a peep would be calling mommy because I can’t do that job anymore 😄. Take care Jessica 🤗

Hi Jessica, first let me say how much I enjoy your videos. I have learned so much over the time I have been watching your content. You do a great job, thank you! I wanted to share a couple of things I have learned when converting recipes to use fresh milled flour. For soft wheat I generally add 1/4 cup extra flour to what the recipe calls for. For all recipes, after the lowest amount of flour the recipe calls for has been added and mixed in. I let the mix "rest" for at least 10 minutes before I decide if I need to add more. It takes the whole grains longer to absorb the liquid. This gives me a better picture of what the consistency truly is. I find that when the product comes out super dense it is because I have added too much flour. I also love that you called your chicken pie a homestead pie. I make one using pulled pork and I call it Piggy Pie. It is also very delicious. Thanks again for all you do!

It will be nice to try the hot chocolate. I’m lactose intolerant and received a nut milk maker from my son in law. It was through an online auction house in Las Vegas for $15. During the beginning of C, when the stores were empty and just about everyone was in a pantry line, I received several cases of applesauce. Last week I ran out of milk so I substituted a can of applesauce for it and the eggs. I didn't tell anyone because I didn't want them to say they didn't want it before trying them. They loved them. I'll be making them more often to go through the cans.
