One side of the center electrode is really worn down. You'll be eating plugs quickly at this rate.

Hi okki, a question: 1) in the specification of the wire would have to say 0 ohm? It does not matter of the material done but that it is 0 ohm true?

Hi Manuel, theoretically you can use any low resistance material you want. But to simplify things, just take the normal copper core ignition wire. Don't buy fancy wire like spiral core or helical core or anything like that. I don't know if this simple plasma ignition system will work with any of that fancy wire.

I'm running champion RC12YC about 10 and a half to 1 compression aluminum head small block Chevy how does this type of ignition affect the heat range of the plug? particularly in hot climates around 115 degrees?

I don't know. I don't have any experience with such a huge V8 engine. This does not affect anything on my car. BTW my car is a Suzuki Vitara 1993 with 8 valve 1.6 liter engine. I think you can just try it and observe your engine behavior carefully. Good luck with your experiment!

When installing on old cars 3 capacitors on the aspirator, there is no strong spark on the spacers, but when installing on the spacecraft, the spark comes out, but if 3 capacitors are installed on each side of the car, it does not work. What is the reason? Thank you.

Try doing this with Brisk LGS racing plugs. The unique electrode design allows for full 360 degree spark propagation with no indexing and they dont wear out easily with plasma.

Those spark plugs are very expensive. I'd rather replace my cheap spark plugs frequently than buying such expensive parts.

If you want to replicate my system, you have to use copper core ignition wire. High resistance ignition wire will not work.

Hi Okki... Just discovered your videos and you are doing a great job. I am a retired automotive engineering executive with lots of background in engine technology. The auto industry in the US market is always seeking technologies that can improve fuel burn to reduce emissions. The only possible issue could be with the solid copper core high voltage cables. Do you experience any RF noise on you radio or does other vehicles near you experience any RF noise on their radios. This information would be critical to determine if your designs would appeal to the US automotive aftermarket. Thanks

Thank you Sonny. I don't have any problem using copper core ignition wire, no problem with radio, no problem with ECU, nothing. But I think it is because I have an old car. My car is an old Suzuki Vitara from year 1993 with 4 cylinder, 1.6 liter 8 valve engine. Also it has TBI system. I don't know if this wire would work on modern cars. I think if we really want to improve fuel efficiency and reduce emissions of gasoline engine, we have to prepare the fuel before it enters the combustion chamber. If we do that, we would increase the engine efficiency and we would not need any catalytic converter or other emission control system. The real problem with gasoline engine is the liquid fuel that enters the combustion chamber. Even TFSI system still inject liquid fuel to the chamber. I think, you as a retired automotive engineer, must have tried gasoline vapour to run a car. I have tried on mine, it works but the problem with me is that I don't have time and money to develop such system until finish. Like other people, I have to work and take care of my family and my little children.

Hi Okki... Yes I agree that the fuel management is critical. The auto industry agrees with you as well. However it is not as simple as just managing fuel structure. They are now managing camshaft lift, duration, etc. to achieve fuel delivery. They have taken this to higher levels by managing the actual displacement by active adjustable piston stroke. In addition they have gone to direct fuel injection, not to mention what is being done with the electronic controls. All these technical jumps are amazing when I think back to the 60's and 70's automotive technology. The other critical issue from an emissions perspective is to manage combustion chamber temperatures to reduce NoX, which is a catalyst in production of photochemical smog.What you have done would be a great product for those vehicle still using distributors, regardless of fuel distribution systems being utilized. If you could repackage your designs it could become a simple and inexpensive high energy ignition system for the aftermarket. For example, if you developed a system that would easily fit on top of a distributor cap with all the necessary components (capacitors, etc.) built into that package and the spark plug wires would then plug into that part. That would allow for an inexpensive product which could easily be installed. Think about it. Leo

Did ever some one found solution preventing the old delco 12 si alternator to interact with plasma ignition? The alternators starting charge goes up around 3-4000rpm . Meaning the alternator constantly back charges true the light bulb. GM be me done terribel job be bypassing diode in the dashboard true the engine warning light . Some how some where those hv capacitors interact with the alternator. So I hoppe some can help me there. Plasma is great on light weight easy burnabel fast burnabel fuel indead engine runs smuther ,faster starter motor turning on engine start up ,fuel economi is litel bit bether and the engine is lot faster . Only thing that plagues me is the alternator nothing ells . I dont know what to do increase pulley size ? I honestly dont know what circuet to use in the first place different bulb size or diode bulb . So I hoppe some one can give me advice there aperantly those delco alternator are programabel be useing centrain capacitor types values and resistors . I hoppe also for low speed alternator starting charge manipulation circuets that wuld be great. Just a thought, would it be just as effective using 2x 3bank resistors from the coil to the distributor? Rather than 3bank on each HT lead... Or would that burn out the distributor too quickly? Just a simple thought that could be done far quicker

If you connect capacitors from the ignition coil to the distributor you will not increase the spark on the spark plugs, you will burn the distributor instead. If you connect them from the coil to the ground, you will increase the spark on plugs but you will still burn the distributor.

Okki I tried it on an MSD and no change in spark magnification. MSD says dont use copper ht leads as they break down

Ratted bug, what a pity. How about Crane-Cams? Will they break down also if we use copper core cables? Do you think that MSD really better than Crane-Cams? I just read the specification of Crane-Cams, you cannot use copper core cables as well. Now you know how powerful this simple plasma system actually is. Just use it without expensive module from MSD or Crane Cams.

At the start of this video you show us 3 220PFK at 15 KV each but according to you for daily usage you use what 3 x 73 PFK at 45 KV on each spark plug ? Or 100 PFK at 30/ 40 KV ? For not wearing out the spark plug quickly ?

I tried your idea just now using 3 , 3KV capacitors rated at 100 PFK that i found in an old electric fly swatter. Those were the highest values that i could find here. They did create a larger spark. I had them connected in series like your Simple Plasma Ignition shows. They only worked when connected one end on the current and the other on the top of the spark plug. When i tried connecting them like you showed one end on the + and the other end on the ground they would not spark at all. They did last very long though but that isn't any refection your your work but just that i didn't use the correct capacitors. This was just a test for myself ok.

Kevin Keiths, I connect the capacitor to the + battery only on my test bench. On my car I connect it to ground (negative pole of battery). You only need to connect the capacitor parallel to the spark plug. The closer the better.

Okki Moeljadi a wider gap makes for a bigger plasma arc; a bigger arc or spark makes for more of the air/fuel charge getting ignited or burned more fully/completely. When the oxygen sensor sees a better burn of the fuel, the computer may deliver less fuel. With an oxygen sensor present, you might want to consider adding an EFIE circuit to lean out your fuel delivery.

Thanks for your explanation Gregory. But I don't think I will enlarge my spark plug gap on my car. Wider gap means higher voltage but it also means that the ignition coil has to work harder (it has to withstand higher voltage). I have done that on my other experiments (wider spark gap and push the coil to deliver higher voltage by putting higher input voltage), as a result I destroyed many ignition coils. And I don't want to get stranded on the street because of that.

Okki Moeljadi the cool thing about both sparks and plasma arcs is that under pressure (like what is present just before the ignition fires), they both grow. Opening up the gap 20-30% will make the coil work slightly harder, yes, but it will save you more gasoline/fuel which is more expensive than a coil.

Nice job there mate.something good I noticed is the clean burn of the plugs,if nothing else a clean non misfiring plug sure beats a partial foul plug with a shitty spark making its way down the center electrode.that in itself is a pollution saving measure.two downsides tho,the (RF) coming of that system would probably cripple a late model cars electrical systems and the other thing is late model cars have coil over plug systems that punch out a huge spark anyway.But hey,keep doing what you're doing,that system you made would work well on older cars,no more fouled plugs ever.

it's too lean combustion. the insulator should be more tan/chocolate in colour. if it is white, it means there is not much petrol in the air fuel mixture. not good in a long way..

Maybe you are right but I did not change any fuel setting. This is standard non-programmable ECU. This engine is running like this since 1993, never been overhauled and this is my daily driven car. I don't know what you mean by "this setting is not good in a long run".

few years ago i bulid plasma spark with inverter n 4 uf capacitor on it.....car runs very good....honda accord matic 1984...can runs 120 kmph with only third gear....plug always white...got better mileage..almost double....but melt my distributor cap n rotor within a months... want to bulid another one...with smaler cap.... use non resistor spark plug n non reaistive spark plug wire.... resistor sperk plug only last within a day

@@azanilsinaga1545 bisa saja. Cuma kabel semacam itu biasanya isolatornya tidak untuk tegangan tinggi. Jadi nanti apinya keluar dari kabel dan bukan diujung busi.

How is your car running? How is the gas mileage and performance and how many miles have you driven in 3 months? You really haven't told us anything. The electrode is badly worn on one side and we still don't know how the extra heat is affecting your cast pistons or exhaust valves. Many companies have developed this system, some without the box, with the capacitors built in, but no car company have adopted it because of these reasons.

nicholascremato, I use this system for more than one year now and I haven't changed the plugs. As I often mentioned, my engine runs smoother and I see a small gain in fuel mileage. I think every engine will react differently. Maybe for modern engines you will get no gain at all. I don't know...

Yes, you can still use this kind of setup. You have to make sure there is no high voltage leak anywhere around the capacitors.

Bang kabel busi apa pengaruh juga. Soalnya saya coba tdk ada perubahan..klu di motor saya bisa. Di mobil gak ada perubahan sama sekali.

Kalau bisa memasang kapasitor langsung di busi, kabel busi tidak berpengaruh. Kalau kapasitornya melalui kabel busi seperti di mobil saya, harus pakai kabel busi inti tembaga.

Mantab mas videonya, jadi mau experiment nih... sepanjang yang saya tangkap kita tidak perlu kapasitor yang terlalu besar kapasitornya asalkan tegangannya disesuaikan sedikit dibawah output dari ignition coil biar tidak terjadi missfire. Mungkin bisa dikoreksi mas kalau ada yang saya salah tangkap 😁

Untuk hasil optimal, usahakan nilai total kapasitor sekitar 70 pF dan rating tegangan kapasitor total paling tidak 30 kV. Semoga sukses!

Actually anytime you see a spark, you are seeing plasma. So yes, it is plasma.

i have a 1992 toyota corola with the 2c engine,it has points , condenser, distributer carburator, no electronics or computers at all, plugs been in 3years or so and done about 100,000 km my plugs are fine, oh engine hasnt been serviced in all that time either, clearly i dont need this improvement
