A three-phase, 50Hz, 6-pole induction motor runs at 950rpm. Calculate (i) The synchronous speed (ii) the slip (iii) Frequency of the rotor emf

(i) Ns=120f/p=120*50/6=1000rpm. (ii) s=(1000-950)/1000=0.05pu=5% (iii)f2=sf=0.05*50=2.5Hz

For star connection phase voltage equals to 1/sqrt(3) times line voltage
