YUM!!! for your good health and longevity chef! Thank you so much. What I learned today: 1) that boiled cauliflower can be "salad", 2) that vinaigrette shouldn't completely emulsify, 3) to use very little vinegar - if at all - on raw tomatoes, 4) that cream-based salad dressing is less calorie than olive-oil based dressing. Many thanks for everything.

The best men, have/had the best relationship with their mama. Women on the dating scene should pay close attention to what a new suitor feels for the woman who raised him.

@Axiom Steel26 If you've studied serial killers and sociopaths as I have, you'd know they pretty much all hate their mothers - even if they suppress it. Men who have a genuinely warm relationship with their mothers tend to like women, and therefore make good partners to them. What's weird about that? It's common sense.

I watched Jacques’ video several hours ago... Immediately after I watched Jacques’ video, I went to the market and picked up everything I needed to make all three of your Salads! I love salads, l’ll even eat a salad for breakfast, I don’t care! I’m widowed now and I live alone I could eat whatever I want for breakfast! I know you said to boil the cauliflower but I decided to steam it instead, you’ll keep more of the vitamins in it that way. ♥️👍🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Oh yes, you are wise, steaming vegetables is far better than boiling them. Steaming maintains vitamins, flavour and texture of veggies like cauliflower, broccoli and cabbage. Salads and all fresh produce are surely our natural food. Our bodies crave nutritious fresh vegetables and fruits, all high water, vitamin, and mineral content, beautiful, flavourful, ALIVE goodies plucked from the earth. Sadly we can become addicted to a wholly unnatural and unhealthy high meat and carbohydrate diet, cooked in processed vegetable oil. A prescription for obesity, heart disease and cancer, ergo MISERY. You are wise, there should be no rules about breakfast or any other meal. Why not eat salad on waking, it is delicious, nutritious and digestible. I am very sorry to hear you lost your partner (assuming it was a happy union, of course). I'm glad you are caring for your physical wellbeing by eating well. Forgive me intruding, but if you don't have a pet you might consider allowing one to share your life. A dog or cat makes a house a home, in my opinion. They love unconditionally, and give far more than they take. God bless, viva the good life! XXX

Pepin has been a favorite for years. A true chef uses his/her hands to prep foods, wastes almost nothing and makes it absolutely fresh, knows the ingredients really well and does a pinch of this and a dash of that, rarely measures, except in baking which needs to be precise....It also helps that he looks so much like my late father. He is also such a sweet and open man. The French know good food. I remember being in Paris in 2004 and having a salad that was so indescribably excellent that I was swoon-worthy! What a wonderful sweet thing in the middle of this pandemic.

I’m a huge fan of Jacques Pepin. I’m pretty sure I’ve watched all of his videos, a lot of them many times. I’ve been watch him for over 40 years. Watched originally on PBS. Continue to watch his Home Cooking series on KZbin as they are released. I have and read 5 of his books. Yes, I read his cook books, and his memoir “The Apprentice”. I have several DVDs and the whole series of Jacques and Julia. I have learned so much from M. Pepin. Never pretentious, always natural, relaxed, easy to understand, a great teacher.

Jacques sure loves his wife! He's a lucky man. The French have a saying, about romantic relationships. They say in any partnership, there is "...one who kisses, and one who is kissed". And the luckiest person, is the one who kisses. Think about that. When you give your heart, give it fully and fearlessly. Whatever the risk, whatever the final outcome. Love without restraint! For love is all that matters at the end of the day, and at the end of it all. XXX
