I absolutely love listening to you mate You were there for my first steps into the hobby many years ago, and I'd like to think I've moved on to more advanced techniques that the essential, but still incredibly awesome, stuff you teach us here. Listening to your voice is like therapy. Keep doing what you're doing.

Egyptian Usekh: a broad collar necklace draped over the neck and shoulders, often secured with a clasp in the back. Many usekh collars were made with glazed ceramic beads and precious gemstones. Sometimes, they were made entirely from precious metals such as gold and silver.

Love the fact that you are painting "alternatives" to GW. One Page Rules produces some great models. I'd like to see you paint some more StationForge scavengers - I'm impressed with that Patreon as well. Keep up the great work.

Love it. This one takes me back--the first Games Workshop models I ever painted were a box of skeletons, because even a ten year old boy can drybrush white over black and have it look halfway decent.

I think we've all done that at some point! 😅 Now that takes me a way back.

In the"heroic" old days of early skeletons' minis, an Easy way to paint them was a base of light brown, then Citadel brown ink and a light drybrush with White, now it's all more sophisicated😊

I really like nice, simple models for things like skeletons or zombies since they come in bulk! Wargames Atlantic has the most simple skeletons (nude skeletons, gasp) that still look great and have nice weapon, shield, and helmet options.

I like the new title card intro! This is just in time for my assembled Warlord Games Skeletons. Fiddliest things I've ever built; I legitimately knackered the tendons in my thumbs cleaning and assembling the boney bastards.

Aha! I knew there was someone else making plastic skeletons out there, I just couldn't remember a couple of manufacturers. Glad to know this'll at least make one part easier!

Couldn't resist but look up what the Egyptian shoulder armour was called (it's one of those things I never thought about until now but as soon as you mentioned it I suddenly had to know!). Turns out, the modern references to these armour pieces I could find tend to use exotic terms like 'collar' or 'shoulder armour'. Every day's a school day!

Look at that, I said someone always knows - or finds out! 😀

Or Gorget
@0bverse2 жыл бұрын
Hi Sam - the generic term for a piece of armour over the pectoral area is, rather underwhelmingly: a pectorale. There are specific examples, like the type used by some Roman gladiators, which was called a cardiophylax, or the medieval gorget. I don't know the specific type-name for the Egyptian-style version.

Question: You don’t need to cover the whole mini in primer? Like the areas the spray can can’t reach in? Awesome video as always.👍🏽🤘🏽
@SonicSledgehammerStudio2 жыл бұрын
There's usually very, very few spots that won't get a tiny bit of primer on them anyway. You'll sometimes get a little hint of the resin or plastic in the very recesses, but as long as you're planning to paint over those, it should be fine.

I'm about to start my own little skirmish team of these, love the look, this will be handy. Did you scale up the mini? I did some of the mummified undead by OPR and found them tiny and impossible to paint cleanly.
@SonicSledgehammerStudio2 жыл бұрын
This was printed from the 'assembled' set of files, but it hasn't been rescaled at all. It might be a little larger anyway, since this guy is on a 32mm base!
