This may be a great idea to swatch them as individual colours and see what you have. However, there is already a free Copic app for that. I actually prefer to swatch them by experimenting and blending copic colours that I have - this will be more useful for me. For example, if I want to colour leaves or grass, I'll pick out a green combo card.

I finally received this swatch tag dies but I didn’t order the 10 die set just to use the strips. I instead used my Silhouette to cut out the strips (after measuring the cut out part of the dies). That way I could cut all the swatch strips I need for my markers and distress oxide inks!!!

Cathy, two things. First and most importantly, I love, love, love, that you have a lot of green! LOL 😄🤣 😃 Second, I didn't think that swatches were all that important or useful. And really who wants to clutter up your wall with all the possibilities of swatches. LOL 😄 And when I saw everyone so excited about Waffle Flower's new set, I was rolling my eyes. However, I do believe that you may be on to something here. You made it look easy and like it took no time at all. I think I will have to give it a try.

Many crafters have the chart we all filled in when we began collecting Copics, but I've never found it to be useful. The visual from swatching this way is more productive for me. I can quickly check my Copics against my polychromos pencils, paper, and inks.

Helpful video, Cathy; thank you. Which Copic violet did your nail polish turn out to be? I'm a big proponent of swatching because it helps in choosing colors, it shows gaps (or overages!) in supply categories, and. let's face it---swatch groupings are pretty. :o)

This is a great idea as being quite new to copics have been caught out working by the numbers going up in the 2 rule there is quite a difference in colour thinking that they should blend ok. Still working on this, am sure it is a learning curve. Also do you mind if I ask for where did you get the ring to keep the swatches on. Thanks for sharing

Where would I find the dyes to purchase to make these tags ? And, what dye machine would I need? Would I need a Misti? Thank you.
@czdesign2 ай бұрын
I have all of my supplies listed in the description box (with links!) to help you find what you are looking for. For this, you would not need a Misti, but yes, a die cut machine would be needed! I can't remember which one I was. using at the time, but… any die cut machine would work. Today I use the Anna Griffin Empress and the Gina K. Designs Intricut. (electric and manual)

How did you know which colors to set on a tag? And if you get new colors who go to the same group and some not go they all on one tag?
@czdesign3 жыл бұрын
Honestly? I just grouped what I had without putting TOO much thought. Now, with new colors, I will just add another tag next to the one I did. Though to be honest? I haven't bought any new pens since I made this!

@@czdesign thank you so much for your honest answer 😊❤️ I loved the video but were so confused how I could manage new ones. So I think I will go with tags for same group and let the one blank I don't have 😊

Cathy, does this die you are using for the colors, the Waffle Flower color combos die? Asking, as when I looked for that particular one, it doesn’t show in that set unless it’s hidden under the flap of the bag it comes in.

Yes, the strip dies are hidden under that strap. Not sure why you can't see it on their site but yes!

What order do you put the colors in?
@czdesign2 жыл бұрын
Well, honestly? I just group them by the code on the pen. So if it's an RV series, I just put them all roughly in the same area. Same with the Rs. Or the Bs. Etc. It has been surprisingly useful for me though. Because I can easily see what each color looks like.

As someone who has all the copics and use them constantly I am shocked that you could have them and not use them. How can that be? Just kidding. One good thing about going by number, when I was buying all the refills (which took me years), I discovered that some of the names had changed! Yep, copic went through and changed some of the color names, they felt some were not politically correct. As always, thanks for the great video! Hugs- April
