Using only about 3 parts you can build a circuit that will sense the heat/temperature and control the speed of a cooling fan.

I really love the format of the video, I've been trying to get into electronics design but without any formal education on it I've had my challenges. I appreciate you explaining the little details in it a lot! keep it up!

I had a schematic that used a 10k NTC thermo resistor and a irf520 mosfet that regulated a 12v fan with a fine adjustment VR in the gate circuit. Set the on temp and the voltage would ramp up with the temperature. Not really how a mosfet should operate, but it did the job efficiently. Edit: wrote all this before watching the video.

Curious if a simple snap switch would work just as well?

Great idea. I have some snap switches in the parts bin. Im not sure i would be able to get it easily adjusted to the temp range i want. Its much easier with the mosfet and the variable resistor. I just looked at one and they are much larger. It will be difficult to mount on the radio. Ill keep looking into the use of the snap switch. Also the only ones i have are normally closed and after heated up the open up. Opposite what i need.
