We made a similar cranberry salad. We added walnuts or pecans to it. And yes we used a grinder! We also used the grinder to make my mom’s homemade spaghetti sauce. Everything was put through the grinder for that!

What kind of funny is I do remember those food grinders. I feel like we had one but my mother was not much of a cook so I don't know what we would have had to process through that, LOL

Mom always used the meat grinder in Spanish it’s called a molino to grind the pork meat for tamales. Her molino was small & the part where the meat went in would open up in half to clean it. Once she was threw she washed it carefully completely dried it & wrapped it and placed it in cotton thick sack.

The first thing I noticed in this morning's video is that your hair looks great! I've been cutting my own hair for years. Think of all the money and time you will save over time! As a host, I want to provide comfort in the form of home-cooked meals. As a mom, I do NOT want to spend all my time doing so while my family is here. One reason I am thankful today is because of you, Bonita! Love this video...

We grew up using our grinder for lunch meat, also. We used bologna ( not sliced) and ground it up with a couple of sweet pickles. My family was VERY low income and I thought this was delicious. We also used it for turkey meat leftovers for sandwich filling. Turkey has always been very inexpensive protein....we were very grateful for our sandwiches. Yum!

Your pumpkin dump cake sounds delicious. We do a traditional pumpkin pie which I was able to get at Aldi for $5 and it looks like it's a really good pumpkin pie. The only dessert that we don't make homemade other than the pumpkin pie is a pumpkin roll. There is an Amish market that makes them they are phenomenal and that is a tradition every year that we go there and pick up one of those the day before
