The trouble with this channel is that binge-watching can't be helped.😅

Thank you so much more for making this content, I just started on my journey of becoming a better artist recently, and your videos are so full of knowledge and a clearly deep understanding what you're teaching, I've found that practicing your exercises have helped me improve drastically just in the last 2-3 months, and I plan to continue!! Thank you again!

Hi Alphonso, You are a brilliant teacher, I have learned so much from your tutorials about how to draw and I am very grateful to you for that. Not only that, you make the process of creating art very enjoyable to see and easy for me to learn from. I have always found anatomy a difficult subject to master, the terminology of anatomy, the names of the body parts, the names of the muscles, the bones etc, but especially the rendering of the human figure I have struggled with, especially getting the proportions correct. I feel it is an ongoing labour of love to master, but your videos are like a blessing. I have been trying to get the proportions right in my drawings for years, but now I see where I was going wrong, I didnt fully understand how easy it actually is to do, because I never learned how to measure proportions correctly. You have shown me how to overcome that and I thank you for that. Moreso, you make the whole process of drawing a fun and enjoyable experience, whereas beforehand I was overwhelmed by other art teachers and their techniques, because I thought I had to study anatomy at a University level in order to get it right in my artwork. I hope it is okay to ask you some questions in regards to light and shade, and to how light behaves. I have never been to art school and I have always just drawn from my imagination. Do you feel it is good to draw from life in order for me to grasp the way light and shaddow behaves, and not to just copy from photographs for example, to study a subject and to see where the light falls and to really observe the different grades of the shaddows in a subject? I wish to become a successfull artist, but I am mainly self taught, in other words I have never attended any art school. I feel I can learn from watching your videos and from continual practice every day. Up to recently, I have been using pencil as my main choice of medium, but lately I have taken a great interest in charcoal and also in soft pastels. Anyway, thank you for being a true inspiration to me, Art is like a salvation in a way for me, it is all I wish to do and therefore I really want to be the best I can possibly be. with my kindest regards, and gratitude, JL.

Thanks so much for that comment. I’m sure your journey will be an inspiring one to others. When youre learning on your own its critical to focus on and study the basics to ensure you have a solid foundation. Draw subjects you find interesting and expose yourself to quality art that inspires you. Feel free to send questions

I've never learn't how to draw ten times faster and more accurate with your videos with anyone other than you. You amaze me really. You make the hard stuff a piece of cake. It's been a year or more, and you still ARE the best "teacher" of my favorite hobby.

(^_^), May I make a request? I've been wondering on how to draw motion lines with ink and pen, would you create a video ? As in when someone is going for a punch, a sprint ,as well as where part of the person's body is "blurred" as the person is moving. Much appreciated! And if not, its all okay.

My goodness, this was just brilliant! Thank you so much! My mind is completely blown. wow! That was so incredibly unexpected and useful. Thank you so much, I look forward to your new book! By the way, the music is sooooo cute and just on point with the style of this video. It suits the 'character' in your drawing and all of it's expressions. ^_^

Thank you a lot! As usual great and funny lesson :) It's really awesome that you are going to make tutorials and book on basic drawing. In you pen and ink tutorials you have great pencil sketches but to be able to draw such by myself I had to find tutorials on how to draw them on other channels. It's not bad but it would be great if you made separate tutorials on how to just draw some of you works and them shade them with pen and ink. Thank you again, Alphonso! P.S.: just yesterday purchased your book ;)

Aww, what a cute video. The music suits it perfectly too. Alphonso, I love the way you teach. I'm an absolute beginner and I don't know where to start. Do you mind creating a playlist for people like me? That would be very helpful. I just watched your video about 7 basic lines which was excellent. Maybe number the videos in sequence? Thanks.

Alphonso--I love your tutorials and find them very helpful and informative as an aspiring artist. I would love if you put a video together than addresses doing a whole person--face, body and motion--in a few positions. I enjoy your concentrated videos on specific parts (eyes, nose et al) but would benefit on learning quick-draw techniques to capture an entire person(s) more quickly and less concentrated. Hope that makes sense! And please, know we love all the sharing you do here!!
