A Simple self re-setting multi mouse trap you can make yourself and is non lethal. It re-sets and will catch multiple mice. Nothing to wind up or reset or load. Doesn't need to be re-baited. The mice can't get to the bait. Can be either catch and release or lethal. Just add 2" (50mm) of water. Simple operation using a 2L pop, cola or soda bottle. Similar to a walk the plank mouse trap or rolling log, but is even simpler. Is like a teeter totter and uses a plastic bottle.

*Chris Notap* Great videos, I watch and like them all. Has anyone that you know of built a mousetrap that utilizes a cylinder under vacuum to kill a mouse through explosive decompression? For example: a wide mouth gas cylinder is attached to a vacuum pump that creates a negative pressure of say 14 atmospheres, a gate valve is attached at the cylinder mouth to a solenoid or mechanical trigger located in a tube connected to the cylinder/gate valve. When the mouse enters the connected tube and attempts to eat the glued down bait he trips the gate valve instantly pulling him at high speed into the cylinder causing instant death through explosive decompression. The gate valve or solenoid closes automatically, pump kicks on and creates vacuum and the process continues. This trap would be excellent because the mouse carcass(s) would be in a vacuum almost constantly, mitigating the smell and allow for constant use without having to reset or clean the trap almost indefinitely. If no one has built it, I will. Thanks again for a great channel
@tykjpelk
@tykjpelk 5 жыл бұрын
There's no such thing as vacuum below 0 atmospheres, so you can't achieve 14 atmospheres of negative pressure. Unless these are subsea mice you won't be able to kill them in a humane way with vacuum.

Why bother with catch and release when the same mice come back to the same place?
@mu99ins
@mu99ins 5 жыл бұрын
Jim Domoradzki Guilt is what they're dealing with. It's unpleasant feeling, guilt. They don't seem to understand that there is no shortage mice. "Mice are fertile animals because female mice come into heat every four to five days. Their reproductive rate depends upon how often males and females actually mate. An average female mouse has 30 to 35 babies per year." So, for just one female mouse 1 times 35 = 35 baby mice in one year. Nobody wants 35 mice infesting their barn, silo or house. If half of these baby mice is female, then 17.5 times 35 = 612 baby mice in 2 years, from just one grandma mouse. The numbers for a great grandma mouse, 3 years after release, 306 times 35 = 10,710 mice.

I saw a video where this man placed a cold wajang (Chinese I think) frying pan on the floor, with half an inch cold sunflower- or olive oil in it. In the middle there was food. The mice ate some and couldn't get out of the pan because it was too slippery. I am considering putting some oil under the peanut butter. The mouse is in my house and I can't wait to bring it back to the forrest.

Are you implying that drowning is a pleasant death? You too can drown, does that sound pleasant to you? I have no problems with killing vermin as long as it is done humanely. I have no problems with hunters that eat their kill or fishermen that eat their catch. I do not approve of trapping wherein an animal is left with their limbs in a clamp until the kindly trapper comes by to dispatch them. A mousetrap that crushes the skull or breaks the neck gives me no problem but this does.

Cool idea! Now I just wish my backyard had any mice to catch;). But the crazy cat Lady down the street keeps like two dozen cats she's 'rescued'. Not sure if any mice survive with so many cats. Those darn poop machines btw: just imagine every twenty pounds of cat food turns into 30 pounds of 💩! But the heck with it, I'll build this tap. It would be so ironic if my neighborhood was swarming with mice too

Last time I bought one, they were $5.00US. Using 3 buckets makes the total cost of this mouse trap seem a bit high to me, especially when the rest of the trap was really cheap. Not to mention that after cutting the bottoms out of 2 of them seems to make them pretty useless as buckets. But that’s just me.
