For people with completely straight and smooth hair, I would recommend curling the back too. If your hair is stubborn about staying in hairstyles when it's fresh and straight (like mine), you will find it easier to get it to do the thing.

When my hair was shorter i would do a cheaters style with a headband and it was amazing but this is so much cleaner! ambypiee yeah they only work well with medium length/thickness. Seriously my hair is so think I have double side shaves and it’s still just as thick as most people’s hair

I tried doing this updo for my sister’s graduation last Friday and unfortunately it didn’t turn out the same! I couldn’t figure out how you did the little curly bangs and I didn’t have the hair rat so I worked with what I had... It still turned out pretty cute though! It reminded my of some of Taylor Swift’s earlier hair styles with her long swooping bangs. I wonder if the reason it didn’t turn out the same is if my hair is too thin and fine to properly hold the curl or if my bangs are too long? I think I slept in the style though so the next day my curls were still pretty much intact (which is rare for me)!

Yep! They basically are the hair donuts but just laid flat, so you could always cut one side and then sew the ends so it's long!
