Charlie I love you videos, just found them....I love music and want to start building some personal flutes....I have already made my first out of pvc, but hope to get some bamboo started. When you demonstrated how the banana grows on the plant, the flower is up, not down, bananas grow from the stem and go up to get the light, that's why they are bent ;)

Hmmm. My Banana plants all have flowers hanging down, not up.There is one giant flower pod and then individual flowers on each banana. Anyway regardless of that, the stems are wrapped to prevent the bananas from ripening too fast.

I want to, impatiently, make a flute from green river cane. Let it cure while I play it. What problems may I expect from doing this? Thanks, Michael

You could possibly risk the flute shrinking if the cane is too green which will completely throw its tuning or make it not play at all.

when we fire the holes they become sealed and waxing/oiling afterward helps to keep it that way :)
