Few people understand weathering should look realistic and no crazy over the top, you are a great painter.

Underrated video, sand color way for a zaku is by far the most sexiest for a land type mobile suit. But i havent found any other video other than this that has painted desert way

I like your approach of forgetting about realism in Gunpla. After all these are not real vehicles, so freedom of creativity is the key. Nice weathering! Have you tried pencils for chipping? The best are the AK weathering pencils, but you can get away with regular color pencils dipped in water for heavier effects. Better if applied on a matt coated surface. I weathered a MG GM with the pencils and it was very satisfying.

3:06 - Regarding the problem of steadying the part if your hands shake: One piece of advice I have seen is to hold the part in your hand, and steady one hand with your other hand as you're painting. Your hands may still shake but that motion is somewhat stabilized by the other hand, and the motion that isn't stopped translates to the other hand, so at least the part and brush are moving together (in theory). I haven't used that method much myself, I don't do a lot of hand-painting, but you might find it useful if you haven't already tried it.

What kind of paint did you use to wether the shield? Was it an oil based one?

Wow that's a muted green. In the thumbnail I thought that was a feddie zaku.

i am planning on buying some zakus for a diorama but i didn't know what kit to choose (before seeing the video) because i thought that kond of figures like this one or the old hg mass production type would be plane,so i search for some custom of a cheap simple zaku kit because origin are out of stoke and the RG is too flapy and expensive in comparison. Then i found you and now i can see that it isn't nesesary the "over the top" detailing in a kit to be good. Now i am planing for the hg mass production type around three of them and they are going to be similar style as yours because there gonna be and the hg zaku mk I sniper in a dessert style enviroment. In conclusion you showed me that you can improve a kit with your skills and make it look awesome if it is plane or supe detailed.

what do you use to stick the shield while you weather it? some kind of hard putty?
@gpaintedsenyo31844 жыл бұрын
Blu-tack, it is a kind of adhesive that won’t do anything to the plastic
