Chevy Volt Side View Mirror Replacement

My son broke his mirror on our Volt tonight. This video is perfect! Now, we just have to get a new mirror and do the replacement. Thanks! EDIT: Bought a used mirror on eBay that matches our white Volt. I've reviewed the steps in your video again, and we'll attempt the fix later today. EDIT 2: Taking the door panel off took more finesse than what's shown in the video, but it did finally loosen and come off. There's a cable that connects to the inside door handle and operates the lock mechanism. If it comes off, make sure to hook it back up before you put the panel back on. All in all, it's doable if you're tenacious enough.

Thanks for including the instructions to removing the door panel. This is like the only video for Gen 2 fixes. Planning on adding the LED door lights to my LT.

From Eric Dion on another video: Re-installing the panel is not easy. Here a little trick I applied on my 2019 volt. On the top of the door panel your have 5 little metals clip that maintain the top of the panel and the rubber trim. Remove all of the them from the door panel cover and install them immediately on the door then put the rubber in. Finally make sure your door lock pin is at the right place and put the panel back in place. This must go straight in, make sure to clip the top section, your 5 metals clips first and then apply the pressure on the one at the bottom.

Right?! My friend was told $550 total at the dealer (part and labor). He got a brand new mirror for $120..

How did you find a mirror WITH the proper color cover? All I can find is with primed covers. Thanks for the video!

I made itI was helping my buddy install this, he brought the parts all ready to go. I believe he just bought it on eBay already painted and ready to go.
