Following my daily routine and having my ups and downs, I often come across the problems connected with using synonims in essay. I was just wondering, if you might be able to invent (make up) and record some videos about some simple English words, for instance: teenagers- adolescents, health-wellness, people- humans, interesting-fascinating.....A they synonims? Or only to some extent? I hope, you aren't sick and tired of my questions.Thanks a lot for your amazing enthusiasm! For every your video!

Great video, I have a question: Could you make a video and RP-English? How do I pronounce “Ritual” in RP? Thanks😊
@jailoliaj
@jailoliaj 4 жыл бұрын
I don’t have an RP accent (it’s not that common in the UK these days!) but I have a fairly standard southern, middle-class accent. For my accent, it’s 2 syllables. The t in the middle is a ch sound. Like the t in Tuesday. Ri-chuwl. Someone posher than I might say it like ‘ri-chul’
@mikhaelganapolsky755
@mikhaelganapolsky755 4 жыл бұрын
J Ailor thank you. I just know that some words with tu pronounced like “Tyoo”. Like in Tuesday for example. Same with du: during, individual, producer... Dyoo-e-ring In-di-vi-dyoo-al Pro-dyoo-ser
@jailoliaj
@jailoliaj 4 жыл бұрын
Michael Ganapolsky it’s complicated! For many British English accents, we’d say Chewsday for Tuesday. And our D sound is often almost a J- eg during juring, producer has a schwa, so it’s almost pruh-juicer But there are loads of different british accents, and some have the sounds you are thinking of.
@mikhaelganapolsky755
@mikhaelganapolsky755 4 жыл бұрын
J Ailor no no no. In American accent it’s doo-e-ring, not dyoo-e-ring. Pro-doo-ser. In-di-vi-joo-al
@jailoliaj
@jailoliaj 4 жыл бұрын
Michael Ganapolsky I re-read your comment out loud after I posted mine. And then edited what I’d written coz when I read it in my head, I’d made different sounds.

*First and foremost* I want to say that you are telling us *facts and figures* of English. They're *meat and potatoes* (from the first video about word pairs) of this language. I'm not *huffing and puffing* while I watch your videos. I want to be *in and out* of KZbin to watch your videos. Thank you for making this channel.

High and mighty, down and out, thick and thin, good and ready, hale and hearty, and what about, few and far-between, footloose and fancy-free, stand and deliver, fish and chips. 😉 Haha, I've kind of run out for now.

@@SimpleEnglishVideos Haha, well, some of them don't truly match the "word pair" requirement. But far and few is the land where the Jumblies live after all.

When something happens 'willy-nilly' it is done haphazardly, without direction or planning. By hook or by crook is used when we attempt to accomplish something by any means possible, including means that might not be legitimate.

Jay: “Everyday I wake up with aches and pains.” Vicky: “It’s because you are so old.” Me: Don’t feel bad Jay. I’m a lot younger than you and I wake up with a bit of an ache as well. It’s because I toss and turn at night. I wake up on my back...But then in the morning, I’m on my side or stomach. Haha. My mom jokes that she feels bad for my future husband. She thinks I’ll beat up my future husband in my sleep LOL!!!

Blind Bookworm, we wish we could tell you that it will get better as you get older, but that's probably not the case. Good exercise and a healthy lifestyle will, however, improve things. Take good care and thanks for writing to us and thanks for watching our video.
