EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT ⭐ I mentioned I had a very exciting announcement at the end of this video. The announcement is that I'm currently developing an online course to Simplify your life. It will be a full course that covers many topics of simplifying. Such as simplifying daily routines, simplifying relationships, simplifying goals and commitments, and finding what things to focus on more (and how to do that). Added to this online course will be all the tips I've shared about how to simplify your life on this channel, as well as many tips I haven't shared anywhere else. Right now I'm still working hard on developing this online course. I'm so excited to share this with you, and I'll definitely let you know when it'll be available for purchase and signing up. Lots of love, 🌼 Vera

Hi, Sue, I, too, am recovering from PTSD. I’m working with my therapist, using EMDR, as well as EFT/Tapping, which you can learn about at the www.thetappingsolution.com website. You can also use the EFT/Tapping app on a smart phone or tablet. It is available for FREE on the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. To download it, just go to the appropriate “Store” for your particular device and in the search box, type “The Tapping Solution”. (If you would like my assistance with the process of downloading the app to your device, I would be happy to guide you through it! Simply reply to this comment to let me know. 🤗) With respect to everything I have already mentioned concerning practices or apps that I use, since I am NOT a mental health professional, please don’t consider my words to be mental health advice. To determine what might be beneficial to you and your particular circumstances, please consult your choice of mental health professional(s). And, if you like, you can of course ask your mental health professional what she/he thinks about EMDR and/or The Tapping Solution. Also, I am SO HAPPY that you have found the lovely Vera and her incredibly helpful Simple Happy Zen channel! No matter the platform(s) one uses to access her content, Vera will be there, gently, confidently, and respectfully sharing her delightfully life-simplifying brilliance, insight, and wisdom via her Simple, Happy self. 🥰 I wish you all the best! 🙏🤗🥰

I have recently went from working 60 hours a week and having no time for myself or family, to working a part time weekend job. I have always been told I should work full time and work as hard as I can so I can retire when I reach old age. Despite being told this, I've always made it a goal to keep my monthly bills as low as possible. Because of this I went from having 4-8 days off a month to working 8 days a month and those 8 days pay for all my bills. This is achievable for everyone, I don't have a degree or anything that would separate me from normal people. Switching out a full time for a part time job now allows me to enjoy 22 days a month to myself and honestly live for my happiness, and I did it with a simple warehouse weekend job. Everyone should attempt to lower their bills to work less and live more, because as far as we know this could be the only time we have to achieve a happy life.

I love this - JOMO. I had an injury that significantly changes my life - I had to learn to say no to alsmot everything otherwise I would get aggravated symptoms. After awhile I realized I was being taught to learn to say NO without feeling badly.. even if it was/is something I thought I wanted to do.. helped me to recalibrate and realize what I really do enjoy doing the most and need to really shed everything else. I still can slip back into saying yes out of obligation or thinking I want to do it but honestly my truest self doesn't but I embrace JOMO so much! I just never had a name for it. I love this! Bc people will wonder how I am so happy when I can't do so much I could before (and I had been a high level athlete and super outgoing etc) .. and I'm like this is a blessing! I had gone on dangerous (for me) path of saying Yes to everything and overcommitting and not following what I really wanted/could do. Love your videos. Thank you!

What a beautiful video and reflects a way I want to live. But when I think about the simple, relatively quiet way I love living, I feel guilty. A colleague of mine never says no to anything---she volunteers for everything, takes care of a disabled husband, has a house constantly full of people (she has six grown children with families)----everyone thinks she's a saint (which she is). Everybody knows her, everybody loves her, but I could never be like her. So I feel guilty. It's hard to create one's own path and not worry about what others are thinking of you! Thanks so much for your videos and your thoughtful words!
@SimpleHappyZen5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing your story. I totally get what you mean. :) Though everyone has their own path to follow, and everyone is good at different things. Some people have a bit more energy, which means they have more to give away. Others (like me) need lots of rest and alone time, to make sure that 1) we feel happy and healthy and 2) we are able to help others. But we might be better at other things. So try not to compare too much and ask yourself if you are living your life in a way that suits you. A rose and a lily are both beautiful in their own way and impossible to compare or say which is 'better'. If you get what I mean :)
@bellahnemetona59245 жыл бұрын
I think you should never think of her when thinking of yourself. I met some people who have been like your colleague and actually they didn't like their hectic life. Especially when they were women their marriage suffered till different extend. Let's agree that we stop compare ourselves to others and let's seriously practise what Vera just said!!!

Hi, I’m so sorry that you feel guilty about not living your life in the same manner as your colleague lives hers. 😢 I feel compelled to share something with you. It is another KZbin video. It features Dr. Gabor Maté. It lines up a LOT with some of Vera’s message. (Vera is a GEM, isn’t she!!!??? ❤️🥰💐) If you want to watch the entire video, you might want to PLAN a time to watch it, or watching shorter portions of it at a time, rather than just clicking the link and watching it on a whim, because it is a little over 3 hours long. 😳 However, it is WELL worth watching the whole video, even in sections at a time! The video’s title is “When the Body Says No:Mind/body Unity and the Stress-Disease Connection W/ Dr. Gabor Maté” and the link is: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gqSlg6WMpqZ0qZo I encourage you to share both the video I linked above, as well as Vera’s “Simple Happy Zen” channel with your saintly colleague. I truly believe that the combination of these videos could, without any doubt, save your colleague’s life and, at the VERY least, add SO MUCH JOY to BOTH of your lives! And please remember to be gentle with yourself. 🤗 It may be easier to allow yourself to live your life the way YOU want to, if you look inside yourself and give that “permission” to your “inner child” because we tend to want to be more gentle with children than with adults for some reason, thinking that children deserve it more... The truth is, we all still carry our “inner child” inside of us, no matter how old we get... Food for thought... 🤔 I hope what I’ve shared is helpful and I wish you and your colleague all the best! 🤗🙏🙂

@@iamsusankate Huge thanks from me to you for introducing this amazing doctor to me!!!! I needed his words as fresh air! I will check his books also. You have no idea how it helped me today to watch it.
@paulsonap65 жыл бұрын
@@iamsusankate Thank you for the suggested video----I will indeed take the time necessary to watch it. I think your comments about the "inner child" are so correct----I think that's part of the issue. I still have those parental voices in my head telling me that I should be doing something "constructive", not taking time for something like "self care" (I can hear my dad's voice poo-pooing that phrase). I know my parents did the best they could, but those parental voices in our heads are so strong! I will indeed try to give my inner child permission to live life the way I choose. Thanks again for your thoughtful and very helpful words. Vera has such a wonderful group of people who follow her videos and blogs. Best wishes!

Hello Vera, your videos each week just amaze me. Your calming voice and helpful, wise advise, always make me stop and think, but also bring me peace, and ZEN... I am actually sharing this video, with someone I know who will benefit from your words. I sometimes watch people on social media, living BUSY, going, and going, never stoping, taking photos all day only to prove they are having the time of their life and I always think, how they aren’t taking time to stop and smell the flowers. They are also missing the experience worrying about taking a selfie then what they are doing. I am now retired, so my life with my husband is UN busy, just the way we like it.I think everyone would benefit from working hard on NOT being so busy...Love Saturday videos, it’s a wonderful way to start my day. ❤️

Thanks for the video. I can struggle at times with family. I am working on me more. Doing things that make me happy. But their are times that family needs me to do something and I end up saying yes most of the time, when I would rather say no. I am trying to find balance. I find myself looking in the past a lot and it only adds sadness to my life. Working to enjoy the present. Again the video made me look at my life in a new light. ❤

Thanks so much Madelyn, I'm glad the video was helpful for you :) It can be very tricky with finding a balance between being there for others and being there for ourselves. There's no right or wrong way, every time there's a new decision if you know what I mean. Try to listen to yourself and see what you can and cannot give, without sacrificing yourself. A good rule of thumb is this: If it hurts you more than it helps the other person, then it's a good time to say no. So 'hurting' is a strong word, but I mean if it makes you more tired for example, or more stressed because you don't have enough time. If that's going on more strongly than your actions will help the other person, it's time to say no when possible :) And also, stay open to investigating other options. Perhaps people have become dependent on you, and there are maybe times when they could solve something for themselves, or ask someone else. Hope it helps :)

Dear Vera, I love your videos and they inspire me a lot! I've just started my minimalist journey and I do need to simplify my life more because I've been feeling exhausted for a long time. Your philosophy of self-care and also dealing with what being an HSP requires to be comfortable is just what I needed right now. Thank you very much for your channel!
