I already try to show gratitude especially when times are tough so I don’t get too down because I have more positives in my life than negatives. I also always listen to music because it really relaxes me. I am really bad with my phone, constantly checking it or looking things up on it, and I am aware of it and does drive me nuts! I am going to work on this because it’s not necessary to check your phone every 10 minutes! Ty Vera for these great tips! 🌸

One of my favourite things to do to feel calm and also uplifted is first thing in the morning and last thing at night, is to open the sliding glass door and take a few deep breaths. I love inhaling the fresh air, especially after rain or after the grass has been mown.....its so invigorating :)

Hi. Although I've been watching your videos for years, I've never commented because I simply don't comment on anything online. I consume very little internet, but today I took a few minutes to tell you that I love your videos. I watch many of them in a row. They are calming videos. I take this opportunity to tell you that I love lotus. I ate it for the first time in England. Then I returned to Portugal 2 years ago, and I couldn't find it anywhere and my mom, who lives in France, brought it to me at Xmas and summer. Now I can find it in Portugal, both the cookies and the cream. But I am trying your rule, no junk food at the house. ;)

this morning, I wrote in my journal how I am grateful for the cold winter weather. I am happy for that fact that I can sit and drink my coffee, tea or cocoa. Binge holiday movies, make homemade soups and stews, enjoy crafting because I don't have to tend to outdoor chores, etc. My husband and I had to do our monthly run around last Friday. I drove this day and I love Christmas music, so I had it on the radio. About the last stop we had to make, he reached over and turned it off saying "can we just turn this s@#$ off now?" It really hurt me that he had to do it like that. He knows I love this time of year, I get emotional very easy because I am so full of joy. I am crying now just thinking of it. I am not a religious person, but I do try to live a more grateful life now. It takes so much energy to get angry over stupid drivers, rude humans, etc. Sorry I went off track, I just connected right away when you said you liked the rainy cold weather. Stay well Vera. ❤

Hi Vera. Thanks for this video. Many years ago, a yoga teacher started adding a self-hug to our routine, and it definitely felt physically good. But that's all I felt, because it was quick and my mood was already fine. More recently, I have been going through some pretty intense personal stuff, and one day I was simply bawling and there was no one I could turn to for a hug, and so I tried hugging myself. I immediately felt a bit comforted, so I hugged my self tighter and allowed myself to just keep crying, and I comforted myself emotionally the way I would for my children or someone else I deeply care about. It was so helpful!! It really DID comfort me. ♥

I do this as often as I need everyday, it’s even the first thing I do when I wake up. I appreciate all you share with us (smelling for comfort is not weird at all) we all have differing 🎉comforts, and the power of the senses is essential to tune into- this how we all learned about our world as newborns- this is an innate desire and practice ❤

Hi, Vera, It's Kaede here. Yesterday I suffered from period pain, so I didn't do anything yesterday. I wake up this morning and feel better, so I do my homework (writing case study report) right after waking up. It's very effective to do it in the morning. I finished it within an hour. Then, I prepared myself, changing clothes, and eating breakfast, and planning my coming studio setup. After a while, I have a rest, and here I am, watching your video. It's 10am in the morning here. After this, I will continue planning for necessary things to buy for my studio. After few years practicing minimalism, I was strict to my morning routine, but it changed to a more flexible routine with a general rule which is to slow down and enjoy every moment in the morning. I might do yoga today, doing meditation tomorrow, writing report or reading the other day. It might vary everyday, but I make sure I am mindful and enjoy every moment.

Vera your not weird. I like feel of soft skin, especially holding my grandchild and his skin is so soft and he has the “baby” smell, it’s so relaxing. I have been very stressed lately and I was given permission from my therapist to shut my phone off for two days why my wife and I had a weekend away. We had a room at a hotel and did absolutely nothing! It was very relaxing. I also have “smart hearing aides that my phone notifications can go through so I hear my text messages. I shut all that off as well and it helps, especially when being part of a group chat and everyone responds over and over, very distracting and now I don’t pay attention any more! Check it a few times a day is all! Thank you!

I no longer need to show off “collectable figurines” in display cases. I try not to collect useless souvenirs from vacations. My exception is Christmas Tree Ornaments. I write on the back (or on a sticker) where I was and who I was with. Often, I’d buy two - say one I like + one my husband would like. Now that we are preparing to divorce, I’ve sorted the travel tree ornaments into a hers pile and a his pile. This is a wonderful channel 😊

And I don't have the stress of writing it and spelling it correctly. I just speak it as I'm doing right now. But I want to let God know that I'm very grateful for all of the abundant blessings that he gives me every single day. And you are one of them!

I had a plan of sitting down with my son every night to talk about, and write down, 3 good things from the day. That turned out to be difficult to do in the long run, so what we ended up doing was doing it at dinner time since we always eat dinner as a family. So every day at dinner time, we take turn around the table and say 3 things we are thankful for. Sometimes it’s something we did together, sometimes it’s something that’s happened during the day, sometimes it’s just that we are thankful for our family, sometimes it is that we are thankful for a warm and safe house or a comfortable bed to sleep in. I’m thankful for this tradition that we started because it makes us focus on good things in our lives. ❤

I also just purchased The 6-Minute Journal you recommended in a different video for practicing Gratitude. Another tip you offered in a different video was to be aware of multitasking. I’m finding it amazing how often I am watching a movie or a KZbin video while scrolling through my phone or sitting down to read while being distracted by having a text conversation. I’m now only doing one thing at the time. It’s a little bit hard to put into practice (breaking the old habit) but it is bringing me a lot of peace and reducing a lot of stress. I am journaling every morning already but today I took extra care to make a cup of coffee and journal. I am also reading a book that gives advice on simple living and am enjoying it a lot, read quite a chunk of it today as well. I am taking a technology break after this video and will continue reading without any devices nearby. Thank you for this lovely video! :)

Meditation can take us away from the oftentimes chaotic world . . . and with practice we can become better and better at retreating into our inner, peaceful world.

Fabulous tips Vera and a wonderful reminder of the importance of slowing down and getting into the present moment. I've cut down on commitments to make sure I have space and time to just be during what is a frenetic commercialised season out there and get in touch with what's important to me. Lovely video and so calming. Thank you xx

Watching your videos is part of my morning routine- or at least, that's how it is for today as I'm getting some light chores done. I appreciate that I can access your channel and get value from your content at any time I want! 😊❤️

Awesome tips! I never watch the news anymore and I do take breaks from the technology everyday. I feel like technology makes me more stressed. I am going to try out the 5-4-3-2-1 tip for myself and also for my students. I work with students with autism and I think this might help them know how to connect and understand their feelings more. Thanks for sharing😊

I gave myself a hug while you were talking about it and it felt soooo goood. Its something Ive been practising lately. Thank you for the reminder. I love every tip you mentioned and realise I am practisng a lot of them. It has been challenging being a HSP in a healing journey. Learning to love myself has been the greatest gift...I'm still learning. I have only just discovered your videos and very glad I did.

This morning I put on my favorite shower sing-along Playlist from 8 years ago and it was the first morning in a long time our toddler hasn't demanded a device - music for the win!

So beautiful, I will be teaching my students how to give themselves a hug. What a perfect solution for those that don't have someone or a pet to hug. I listened to your advice and hugged my sister, it ended in lots of giggles but well worth it as a mood lifter 😁🤣🥰🤣. Love your videos you are wonderful. 🐨🦘🦘🐨

I'm still at the very beginning of the video, but wanted to tell you that I really like the babysitting example! It made me laugh a bit, because imagining this is quite absurd, but truth is that's what we do to ourselves! Thank you for sharing this example, Vera! 😘 Now continuing to watch. Pretty sure the rest of the video will be great, too❣♻️
