I just bought this can on sale. Before sales tax, I paid $127.99. Still a lot for a trash can, but I had been eyeing it at $200 for a while and couldn't bring myself to pay it, so the discount seemed like a sign and made me take the plunge. It changed the appearance of both our trash area AND our recyclables more than you can imagine! This trash can, although a few gallons smaller (but larger than our prev. recycle box) hasn't made a huge difference so far in how often we have to take out the garbage so far, and we line the recycle bin, so it will stay clean as well. The bags are well concealed, so no more sloppy look. It fits perfect up against the end of the cabinets and actually looks beautiful (for a trash can) Its fingerprint "resistant" so I'm sure there will be some cleaning to do, but after several days of use, it still sparkles and shines. I typically have buyers remorse when I pay a lot for just about anything I can get for much less that serves the same (or similar) purpose, but so far, I have no regrets whatsoever. In fact, I think I would have been ok at the 200 (unless I saw the sale after!) I love the difference it made in the look/organization of my kitchen. I have been on a huge kick of organizing, downsizing and decluttering and this trash/recycle combo fits right in!

It depends on your location, but many cities will not recycle things that are bagged. Please check with your local recycling center before you bag your recyclables!!

Looking forward to more videos so I can figure out which trash can to buy. I'm getting really tired of carrying all of my trash around in my pockets.

I splurged and purchased this $200 trash can and I love it. I like things neat and tidy and I was getting tired of the cheap plastic cans I had. I like that both trash and recycle is contained in one unit, eliminating the need for two seperate containers like I used to have. Everything is hidden inside, even the plastic liner overhang. It is very convenient and just looks really nice. I believe it comes with a pretty lengthy warranty, as it should for the price. I can't remember how long, but it's multiple years. After about 6 months, one of the hinges started sqeaking a little when the lid closed but a little WD 40 fixed it. Yes, it is a lot of money for a trash can, but I like the visual appearance and the convenience of it.

The blue bucket isn't supposed to get a bag. It's for recyclables. You're supposed to be able to just pull it and dump it.
@hullhaley56333 жыл бұрын
Incorrect. SimpleHuman sells a size H blue recycle bag/liner that you can and probably should put on the left side of this set up. Simplehuman makes it, though, so you don’t have to if you don’t want to. That’s the reason why they put the handle there, in case you’re not using a liner & want to just lift and dump. If you’re trying to keep that side clean, without rinsing it was soap and water on a regular basis, that’s the purpose for the H size recycle blue colored liners.
@Steph-zg2pw2 жыл бұрын
@@hullhaley5633 plastic bags are not curb side recyclable. So no you should not use a liner. Your supposed to rinse your recycling anyway so the bucket should not be dirty anyway. Your either not recycling properly or don't know what is recycling and what is trash.
@Jess_Smith09032 жыл бұрын
@@Steph-zg2pw came to say this. Just because simple human sells the bag for it, doesn’t mean you’re supposed to use one. I assume you can use the bag, take it to your recycling disposal and dumbs the contents of the bag off, then trash the bag, but I don’t think anyone would do that. Plastic bags aren’t supposed to go into regular recycling curbside, as they are not recyclable.

I just received this trashcan today and since the time of your video, they've updated it and now it can "close" and "stay open" by command. So there's 3 commands now in Dec 2019: "Open can," "Close can," and "Stay open." The stay open command blinks a blue light to let you know it is paused. Then when you walk away from the sensor it closes or you can just say "close."

Please show us how to change liner replacement pack. How many bags are in the replacement pack? How thick is the liner pack & how far does it project out the back of the steel container?

The bucket IS A PAIN to get out and it feels like you'll damage the machinery doing it too. That is the only con thus far for me. I'll probably start using bags and ditch the bucket if it continues, it may be something I am just not doing right. My trashcan does close after having it propped open but I do have to manually give it a tap to start it downward. I'm going to call the manufacturer to find out if there's a trick in getting the bucket out easier than it hitting the inside of the lid in the process.

Hell no I’d never spend $200 on a trash can that doesn’t fit anything. I’m Arab and we eat a lot and if it’s not 60+ liters for both trash and recycling than that’s whack lol I need 120+ liters to be satisfied sorry. But I’ll tell you this, I own the 60liter Simplehuman trash can and the simplehuman product is awesome!

Heck yes you can! I use regular sized bags to save money. They might hang out a bit if you don't get them in there perfectly, I don't know if that would bother you. It detracts a bit from the general appearance of your futuristic space ship trash can.
