They show us how to use products in different ways. Even if you go to a farmers market to get the ingredients. I've never been a fish person, except for canned tuna😁, but I once had fresh salmon with a sweet glaze, like they made, and enjoyed it very much! I didn't enjoy the price!

@@duanechadwick331 "abrupt?" lol... dude, I've seen these two hunt and fish in ice and snow and process an entire moose by themselves. I don't think saying "stuff their faces" (with delicious food no less) is gonna ruffle their feathers or slow these two down. 😎

Great job making the sushi 🍣 Nigiri is pronounced nuh-gee-ree. Just a friendly fyi 😊 Also, don’t forget that the fresh fish can contain tape worms and other nasty parasites. Freezing is recommended to avoid them.

Thank you. Wanna say the same!
@kille65252 жыл бұрын
Ok Google says nuh gee ree but in Japanese "I" is pronounced like "e" and "e" is kind of like the Canadian "eh". What they were saying sounded like an African country. Like Nigeria or something 😂. Either way keep up the great work

Glad you mentioned this. I was going to. Tapeworm? No thanks.
@gregorykons78232 жыл бұрын
This is so true, wild salmon is the worst offender for parasites. Last year they made a cured salmon with alcohol and that was OK but this this is probably not good.
@Min-tr1ml2 жыл бұрын
I was wondering if I should be a wet blanket pointing this out, but you beat me to the chase. 😉 If the meat is sliced thinly enough, the worms can be seen embedded in the flesh against the light, but the eggs are probably too small to be seen. Even in Japan, fish meant for sushi are frozen to kill parasites before they are cut and served.

Oh my gosh! I miss living in Alaska! I loved going to Kenai and dip netting for salmon! My team part was cleaning the fish, right there on the beach. Being a Cajun country girl, this was a new experience for me, at its best! Being poop-bombed by seagulls, I just had to laugh at myself. There is no room for vanity in the real Alaska! And, I too love the beautiful color of the salmon filets. If y’all ever decide to have a fan come visit y’all, please consider me! I may be 62, but I’m a hard worker, and love learning new things. It’s great to be part of a group who value “Simple Living” which does involve hard work, but a satisfying work that has actual tangible rewards like growing your own food, raising chickens, hunting, building your own buildings, being allow to learn from failures, which really aren’t failures, they are learning experiences. When these happen, it makes you seek out a new way. We have all been privileged to be invited into your semi-daily lives and it’s a great alternative to increasingly bad television. We love you two, even though we’ve never met. We love your pets and all you have to teach us. I just want you two to know we care about you both, even though we ask where Bo is. As always, phenomenal content. As fellow alaskans, you two are killing it, thank you for taking the time to post. Sick trick/slick tip: use lard or bear grease to fry and puff salmon skin into chicharrons. This makes them easy to crumble and store for extra snacks/condiments/high calorie people and animal feed supplements. For the animals, parsley is good for digestive tract, for birds specifically cayenne or habanero pepper dehydrated and ground fine and mixed into feed will not only keep off most mammals, but the avian stock has no capsaicin receptors. No heat for our feathered friends. Goes through their system clean. While also repelling most insects.
