Күн бұрын

Our garden is beginning to take shape after 4 grueling days of setting posts and notching the corner supports. With 3 - 1/2 inch used drill pipe as the backbone we can rest assured we built a fence to last.
We appreciate you tagging along for our Alaskan adventure 😀
Thank you for watching and supporting our channel! 💙

That fence is so solid and well done that it will not only protect your garden from moose, but also from grizzly, elephants, gorillas, rhinos and dinosaurs. Great job Arielle and Eric!

Suggestion to think about: putting caps on top of the metal posts to keep rain out so they dont freeze and possibly burst. Love, love, love each and every video!! We all appreciate you two!

With there soil I don’t think they will have to worry, pipes will never be full , if the pipes fill with water with there soil they have , they gonna have a lot more issues to worry about then that lol , and that’s 1/4 inch steel , can’t say I’ve seen metal pipes in the ground burst here in Canada at -40 f , but it is possible ,

Don’t need to cap posts , just drill a 1/4” hole in each post 2-3 inches above ground level. This will let ant moisture out of post. Also probably do not need to cope corner pipes, you can get plenty of weld top and bottom of pipe.

Many years ago, I was in line at a salad bar with my son who was probably 3 or 4 years old. I was pointing out some things that were similar to what we grew in our own garden. A stranger asked my son what our best crop was. Without hesitation he answered, “weeds and wocks “. Funny.

My best friend told me about your channel 4 years ago. He was a bad ass biker dude inching in on his late 60's. He always had this dream though, of doing what you two do. He even grew veggies last year and started a tomato plant from seed this year! I lost him May 1st to cancer, but you have no idea how you inspire people from all walks of life. We used to text each other when a new episode was posted so we could watch it together but in our own homes. I live similarly to you here in Effingham NH, and my dear friend would love this vid. You touch lives!❤

@AussieTracy same. Watching baking, caning, camping, gardening, building all ok. Yet I will watch episodes of Eric do things that should bore me to TEARS - generator problems, Quonset hut screws, chainsaw oil thingy, and the recent sawmill blade slippage (? comments said sap buildup, use diesel) etc and I love it! Could watch all day. I think it’s the combined work ethic, humour and the working-it-out ingenuity that make me love watching any and all content…. as well, as the absolutely stunning videography.

A MID WEEK VIDEO!!!!! YAY!!!!WOW! THAT'S ALL I CAN SAY IS WOW! You two never cease to amaze me!!! Ariel, I see you deciding you want the post all painted black, lol. I know it's work, but I love the idea of straining all your dirt. It looks like your dirt will have a lot of sand in it. That is going to be great for your root veggies. Carrots love sandy soil. They can stretch out and go deep. I am excited to watch you both accomplish this all. I have been watching since you started off to Alaska on your journey, I believe about 4 or 5 years ago. I have never been disappointed!! "Extreme Living Alaska" certainly fits you two. Nothing you do is "simple." Eric, you drive that tractor like it's part of you, lol. Can't wait to see the next video! Both just amaze me... What it would be, to be young again and watching you. I could of been so inspired by you. God's protection as you build your future.

Bandit's ready! Pepper be like: "Mi sneky." Eric, Posts are vertical, which you want "PLUMB". Rails are horizontal, which you want "LEVEL". Corners you want "SQUARE". to make them square, use the 3'/4'/5' measurement method. Mark 3' length of one leg, then mark 4' length on the other leg. From each of those marks you measure diagonally, and when you get 5' measurement the angle is "square". Your corner-to-corner measurement being the same is verifying your work. Nice work you two. The sweet part of how you're building this fence is that it'd be super easy to string a wire at one given height to stand out from the fence and charge it with electricity if you wanted to, which could be added at any time later on, and the whole perimeter is already "grounded". Rest up those backs for the next phase! Now go fix a fantastic meal to help those bodies heal.

Now two kids later (ages 19 and 15) we find ourselves moving yet again. This time it's to Fairbanks Ak from northern NY. This ordeal of moving everything we own 4,200 miles, buying a home and selling a home all at the same time, is so overwhelming we are saying this move/home will be our "forever home" lol

I know this is personal but I think y'all would make the best parents that could share so much. Your resourcefulness, kindness, and willingness to take on new challenges is certainly what the world needs more of.

They would make great parents, but they have spoken about not wanting children. It was in a Q&A video they did while ice fishing.

I don’t think I have written a note before just watched and smiled. For some reason I am now, thanks for starting your Chanel years ago. Your question and answer video when you were in the ice tent, I think you said you had decided not to have kids not to be nosy just want to say you guys would make great kids. To see you pass this home down to the generations to come would be awesome ♥️

You have by far the BEST channel to watch! I love the diversity of your content! So enjoyable to watch! A lot of channels have the same mundane intro and endings...they get old after 2 episodes! Plus you keep it real and not make it out to be what it isn't! Keep up the great work!

I've never been so excited for somebody elses garden. I'm looking forward for the tour among the plants showing everything growing up, the harvesting, the canning vlogs... I love all of those!

It’s funny. There are other channels doing similar stuff in Alaska but I don’t watch them. For some reason, your videos are more entertaining and interesting. The filming and editing are fabulous and the way you talk to the camera (us) is so engaging. Thanks so much for bringing us all along with you.
