One of the band’s most underrated songs...this is a great, rousing track in the tradition of Simple Minds.

This was the first song to get me through my fist of many cat scans and MRI's , i was terrified of the machines noises , so asked them to play my Best of Simple Minds CD , blooming got me through the most horrendous times in my life, the mysic just fitted and replaced the clanks and crashes of the machines, ❤

I saw simple minds at Wembley years ago & I swear about half way through this song Jim Kerr said I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts before starting off the song again (dramatic pause mid song) my mate Scott says he doesn't remember it but I'm sure it was a thing Jim did, either that or I'm going mad (definitely a possibility)

So, it was Simple Minds and not Inxs. Now that explains why I kept getting confused.

Street Fighting Years is a sublime masterpiece, one of the greatest of all time, let alone from the 80s decade (easily SM's 2nd best album after New Gold Dream).
