I don't understand the mother's reluctance about looking in the casket. Seems to me if your daughter was missing you'd absolutely want to check once the issue was raised. Imagine refusing to look then burying the casket and always wondering if your daughter was actually in there. I couldn't do it. I know it's for dramatic effect. It just struck me as odd. It's not like they were asking to dig her up. Nor was it anything invasive like an autopsy. So I don't understand the logic.
