This is not only one of the most aesthetically pleasing episodes of the entire show, it is fantastic on character development for all three characters (Dean, Cas, and Sam). Sam gets revenge on his brothers torturer. Also, this was the episode where Castiel was originally going to die. Misha Collins was cast for a three part guest role. I'm so glad they decided to carry on his role.

SPOILERY QUESTION!!!!!!! So they wanted to do with Castiel what they did with Mick Davies?
@hisgirlfriday283 жыл бұрын
@@glygriffe spoilers answer/question I'm a little confused. Do you mean kill him like Mick Davies? I just know that when Misha originally got the role it was for three episodes and he was supposed to die. Then they kept expanding the episode numbers he was in because they liked his character and then they eventually decided to keep him around for good and gave him Anna's plotline and made him a series regular for season five. I do not know the details about Mick though.

Jensen (Dean) actually let Christopher (Alistair) choke him for that scene. They both agreed it had to be as real as possible and Jensen trusted him.

This is the turning point for the storyline. There are major developments for Sam, Dean and Cas. We realize how Sam's able to use his powers, exactly how strong he's getting and why. We get to know that Dean's the one who broke the first seal setting off the apocalypse and why rescuing him from hell was important. AND Castiel's decision to disobey is a pinnacle moment in the show. A fantastic episode 👏

This episode is probably one of my favorites in the entire show. It has such great character moments. Jensen absolutely kills it with his performance here and so does Misha. That final conversation in the hospital is one of my favorite moments in the show as well. The writer for this episode Ben Edlund is fantastic. Every episode of his is always good, whether its a funny one of like 3.03 or something more plot heavy and intense like this one. I'm loving your reactions I was wondering when you would start mistrusting Ruby... she is a shady one. I already know the finale will blow your mind. (I know he is ahead on Patreon so this isn't spoilery)

I love how this show has so many filler episodes and in one or two main episodes they hit us with all these amazing facts and action. Dean being the one who broke the first seal was so amazingly written. Also majorly justifies why he was saved from hell. Ughh the actors in this show just acts so well and also in this episode castiel became one of my favourite. His story arc is so amazing too 👌

Alistair's voice has always bugged the heck outta me. For some reason he reminds me of Marlon Brando as The Godfather.

As far as I can tell, this show follows traditional Catholic theology regarding how angels are created - by God alone, as beings of pure spirit. If you remember back in S2 E13 "Houses of the Holy", that Catholic priest died and called himself an angel, appearing to humans and pointing out & instructing them to kill certain evil people. But when the Winchesters summoned the dead priest's ghost with the pastor of the church, the pastor reminded the dead priest that he knows humans don't die and then become angels; that's never been a part of Catholic theology.... Biblical mentions of angels and the disobedience of Lucifer & other Fallen angels in Revelation and St Luke's gospel tell us all angels were created before any other life. St Augustine (4th c.) reasoned their creation and the fall of the bad angels happened on the 1st day of Creation, when God said "Let there be light" (angels) - and then He separated the light/'day" (good angels) from the darkness/"night" (bad angels who rejected God); because all this happened before the suns/stars (which is what we think of as giving us the light of day and darkness of night) were created on the 4th day.

3:23 That's the crappy thing about ANGELS, They feel entitled because of the power they are gifted by their FATHER. YET all that power they come to a Mortal to do their bidding. What a joke.😤

To answer your question, Angels are created by God himself, you can't become one. At least not in this show, I dunno about others. Fantastic reaction btw :)

It was the first actor who played Alastair. The actor in this episode (and the previous episode) just continued with it. I do think this actor, Christopher Heyerdahl, did a better job with it than the original actor who played Alastair.

Oh how I hated Uriel! Much more than Alistair. Probably, partially, cause he's angel, I mean Alistair is demon, he supposed to be this way.

They don't say this on the show so it's not a spoiler humans can't become angels angels were created by God
