@Да it does make sense because they were on a case. Dean, who sleeps around a lot, would not fall for cute girlie at that time. So, the siren had to be creative, much deeper than usual. Besides, mythologically, sirens aren't sexual at all. Sirens were singing to kill, not having sex. This siren just went for modern day ways to hunt.

This episode always gets me on the stripper named Jasmine thing. I have a niece named Jasmine and when my brother and his wife told me that was the name they chose, I said it was a stripper name. To hammer my point even further, they were having dinner at my house when they told me her name and the movie Independence Day was playing on tv...with the stripper named Jasmine. They still went with that name and I call her Jazzy. 😁

Again bobby the real hero comes through and saves the day 👌things to consider hear though that girl was not a siren. She was still weird talking like that for the first time they met and sam has some serious anger issues though he was not injected by siren the amount of anger he had in him is just too much. Makes u wonder what he has been doing with ruby 🤫

I think it has less to do with ruby, and more with the fact how Dean treats Sam like a freak, which is a very sore topic for Sam, seeing how he's been treated like a freak his entire life. First how John always made Sam seem more special than Dean and needing to be looked out for, then school and then the whole demon blood thing and how *everyone* gives Sam shit for that, even though its not his fault that Azazel bled into his mouth. Sam simply hates being treated differently for something he has no control over, which is understandable.

(Only my opinion, please dont come for me) You can't tell me the writers didn't know what message it gave with the male siren for Dean. Sure we know it's because the "perfect brother" thing but this also baited many people into thinking they get representation. Like what did the director expect? All the other victims slept with the siren because of physical attraction (so why change the pattern for Dean) and if they didnt mention the wish for a "perfect brother" it would obviously indicate he's bi. Don't get me wrong the whole plot was clever and showed the messed up relationship between the brothers but I think they should have done that in another monster of the week episode. And didn't try to do that in a case were men get lurred by a siren that changes in someone you find attractive and has Sex with them...

This was the first episode of Supernatural that I saw. The "gay" subtext is what made me watch it. But in the end Castiel is what made me keep watching the show.

Sirens are supposedly in the form of what you desire the most. Since the siren showed up as a man for Dean that started the theory that Dean is Bi

I think that the theory of Dean being bi started in season one. He was bi-coded as early as that. The first most prevalent one being with Ash in the Roadhouse at the computer at the beginning of season two. Also, the brothers thought that the siren took control by having sex with the victim. So before the siren revealed the perfect brother figure reason and the spit, Sam saw it was a man for Dean and did not seem phased by it.

@@SimpleReactions @Echo Wall Dean's siren being a man is not-in my opinion-the most convincing of example, mainly because the SPN universe's lore on sirens a little muddy. If they shift between different kinds of love as the dialogue implies, it doesn’t serve to prove much about Dean’s sexuality. On the other hand, if they are ONLY interested in sexual/romantic love, as the earlier cases before Dean's implies, then it’s another story altogether. Having said that, why someone would consider the siren’s male form as part of a whole lists of “proof” that Dean is interested in men, imo, is in the narrative structure. SPN is a heavily serialized series, the stand-alone episodes complement its overarching plots. This has been repeatedly stated by the writers, in order to expand on the plot arcs and going into the boys' headspace. The monster of the week episodes is the ones that expand the story more as the plot arc episodes have limited time. And in the context of S4, in this episode, Dean and Nick were a clear mirror for Sam and Ruby. Currently, Sam is being manipulated by Ruby. Throughout S4, Sam ingests Ruby’s blood, and the connection he forms with her through this act results in a sexual relationship that she uses to manipulate him further. In this episode, Dean ingests Nick’s venom, and the connection he forms with him through this act results in a relationship that Nick uses to manipulate him further. On the surface level, Sam and Ruby’s relationship was explicitly sexual/romantic, while Dean and Nick’s was implicitly sexual/romantic. Up to this point, we the audience, were informed by Nick his motive as this is the only time it switches to a familial, platonic form of love, in his dialogue with & in regards to Dean. However, despite this dialogue, the siren’s actions, as actor Jim Parrack mentioned in his interview with Supernatural Magazine issue #13, (google it for the whole article) about playing the character, he created “some kind of sexual tension” with Dean.

Then there was letting Dean know I liked him, was interested in music, and admired his car. It was fun because you knew where we were ultimately going. Q: Once the brothers were enthralled and the Siren's true nature was revealed, did you approach Nick's mannerisms or speech pattern any differently? JP: Yeah, at that point, I thought he should be ambiguously sexual. As the FBI Agent, he was a guy's guy, but this creature wasn't a guy or a girl. I tried to find something in between and enjoyed having control over these boys in a sexual way. It's a strange way to describe it. JP: .... When the brothers found out I was the Siren, I couldn't keep acting like a woman and it wouldn't have been real if I kept going as a man. I tried to find something almost neutral, but displaying some kind of sexual tension.
