Nat han I guess your problem is that you didn't consider the mob cap, and i did the same mistake on my survival world. I don't know so much stuff about mob cap, you can just search it on Google, but basically what you want to do is make sure that no mobs can spawn in a 127 spherical radius around the spawner, so you could go for the easy way and build it up in The sky over an ocean, but if you want it to be the most efficient farm you should build it as low as possible, without any blocks above it, and still light up the caves around it in The 127 radius. Hope this has been helpful :) (and btw I'm not sure about how the game works on PS4 edition, but i think it's the same) EDIT: this applies to every mob farm ;)

@nathanspeiser5 жыл бұрын
Cole Dunahugh could be a few things! Make sure to build it higher in the air (110 or so) and that you have everything lit. AFKing above the farm about 50-60 blocks makes for the most efficient spawn rate as the game checks from below for dark spots to spawn mobs and being that far up eliminates a lot of caves.

Probably you made the farm near caves / sites where mobs can spawn. The mobs are spawning inside other places and not dying so they are capping your mob cap. You have to put water everywhere in about ~150 blocks from the farm to outside [and also all the caves behind the farm and also under this ~150 blocks (~300 blocks of diameter)] to have the best results. Less blocks with carpet / water will mean a decrease in the spawn of creepers on your farm. You can do this farm over the ocean to have it working, not at 100% efficency because it will have some caves under it, but it will give you some gunpowder. Also check if you are in peaceful, light levels using f3 and also check the afk location you are using, because if you are too close to the farm, mobs won't spawn at your farm. If neither of this is what is giving problems, check other things like height of the farm (normally more height better results, so if you build this in the limits of the sky better) or so.
@PodexGaming6 жыл бұрын
@@malperder i build it underground because someone said more deep more better is that a wrong advise?
@malperder6 жыл бұрын
@@PodexGaming Theoricaly underground is better because it spawns more monsters (if nowhere except in "that deepest cape" is a spawn area) because the event "spawn monster" starts from the most deep cape to the highest. If you do it in the sky with some mobs spawning below, they will despawn at some point (because you aren't near them), so it is easier to control but not the most efficient (they will spawn and then despawn in seconds). Basicaly, underground is harder to control but it is the optimal, while in the sky is easier. If you don't have an "area clear of spawn" (like 10 chunks fully mined) i recomend to put it in the sky, because random spawns at random caves will delimitate your spawn cap (for proximity these random spawns won't despawn), meanwhile in sky will despawn. Also, and taking into account some farms I made, if you aren't going for the perfect efficiency "sky farms over an ocean" are way more easy to build than underground ones for random loot, and you don't need to full clear the underground caves (is recommended but not that necessary). TL;DR: Underground farms are more efficient but hell harder to do, while sky farms are the easiest ones and have a good spawn rate.

I built the Creeper farm 25 blocks high in the air, connected the 4 creeper exit holes with water, so that the creeper are collected at one point, and then they fall 25 blocks to the ground and are dead (items get collected by a hopper). Keep in mind that the creeper can only spawn if you are at least 24 blocks away from the creeper farm!!!
@AZCaveMan4806 жыл бұрын
Tip: make their exit holes in the corners. I noticed more often than not they would try to go to the corners first, and then stay for a bit. I added a block, but they still gravitated towards them. So I just moved the exits to be in the corners and works perfectly now

What? I thought you would have like thousands of subs! Keep making tutorials like this one! The explanations were great and your mic isn't horrible like some other youtubers. If you keep this up you could become bigger and be more motivated. Liked and subbed!

If you were doing the farm with water, you could replace the carpets with cobblestone walls underneath so spiders can’t spawn.

I havent watched your improvement video, but having the mobs drop to their death might be more efficient because then it will kill them faster, thus freeing up more space in the mobcap, which allows them to spawn quicker Also, digging a massive hole down to bedrock and placing this in the hole improves spawning rates if you place slabs/water/carpet in all spots outside of the farms spawning platforms Lighting up caves around the farm does as well, also, to condense the storage, you can have a hopper minecart go under each of the killing floors for the creepers and stop on top of a docking station with hopper below it that leads into a chest. Since no redstone dust would be used (only power rails and redstone blocks to power them) it woukd cause minimal lag for a reletively cheap storage system since you wont have to rely upon a massive amount of hoppers for a storage system
