The ticking of that NAC relay is music to my ears!

Looks like an early Simplex 2001 system from around 1979 or 1980, judging by the 4051+4050-80 horn/lights. Good to see some of those still around; I bet in three to five years there will be none left in my area. (They already got rid of them at my old school, replacing them with boring SpectrAlert Advances.)

The "medow" I will call it will always have 4051 horns one building has over 90

Were you able to save anything? I remember the video you made about it.

Sadly I wasn't. I was working long hours at Wal-mart at the time and all the late snow made it hard to get anywhere. I've been watching on eBay for a Simplex 4050-80 horn/light exactly like my school had, but no luck so far...

too bad. I hope I can get the Faraday 3430 bells at my Elem. school.

My friend's university also got rid of their Simplex 4051 alarms. One building completely removed the 4051+4050-85 horn/lights and their backboxes (for surface-mount installs) in favor of TrueAlert wall and ceiling-mount speaker/strobes (conventional, multi-candela), and they replaced the old smokes with addressable TrueAlarm detectors and the 4251-20 single-action pulls with the new 4099-9006 dual-action pulls with the LED indicator. Another building simply removed the 4051 horns only and slapped 4096-9127 TrueAlert horn/strobes onto the 4050-80 plates, but they kept the break-glass 4251-30 pulls and 2098-9201 detectors (the Simplex 4002 panel they had prior to this "upgrade" was most likely replaced with a Simplex 4007ES or something.)

Where can I find resetable power on one of those panels? I need to reset some new duct detecors.
@burnoutteamclubbtcp72835 жыл бұрын
the 2001 was replaced by a 4100ES. but since the NAC board supports older horn. the 4051's were kept although they do code 3 now.
@seanjuth Жыл бұрын
Well yeah, the horns from the old 2001 panel are 24 VDC, like most new fire alarm horns.

@ZakWolf7 жыл бұрын
Yes, it is a 4050-80 light plate. It's too dark for me to tell though if it's the version that had black "FIRE" lettering on the lens or not.

Is the 2001 panel original because the 4051s with the 4050-80s look quite old for it.
@SomeDudeWithAnExitSign3 жыл бұрын
Well, there was a time that Simplex used 4050-80s and 4051s on 2001 systems since the 2001 was released back in 1978 while the Simplex 2903s were released back in the early 80s. I see why you believe that since the 4050-80s and the 4051s are usually installed with a 4208.

jeez this panel is really old than 4003 voice evac and 4100 voice evac panel series. good thing simplex just stick with 4100 panel series including 4100u and 4100es panel for voice evac also as well.

random question here, but if a 2001 doesn't have a march time card, does it just sound in continuous? All the videos I find on youtube have the march time card in it, and I am wondering this xD

they never made them w walk test functions back in the day?
@ZakWolf7 жыл бұрын
I don't think so. But I DO remember seeing a real "walk test" back in the summer of 2000 at my old school. At the time they had a Simplex 4004 fire alarm system tied into the original Simplex 4208 panel (they had the same 4051+4050-80 horn/lights too), but I am pretty sure the walk test mode was set from the 4004 panel (the 4004 was for basic system functions, signal circuits and the newer duct detectors, while the 4208 was for the existing pull stations and heat sensors.)
