Nice Video. You can actually fill both the hydro and gearbox through the gear box hole. There is a small channel between them that connects both chambers. It takes a while, but the oil in the gearbox will settle into both chambers. Keep filling it every few minutes until full. The hydro compartment will not fill through the reservoir. Oil type is 2.5 quarts of 5w50 I was able to get 2 qts in mine. No need to take the tires or deck off...its all accessible with flexible tubing and a pump.

You should fill the transmission from the top by removing the black plug behind the seat pan. That's why that plug is there. There is also a plug at the front of the seat as well.

Great video. Exactly what I was looking for. As for the air purging, how much of a pain was it? From your video, just by filling the right side via the reservoir, wasn't enough to aid in getting the wheels moving. How much did you end up putting directly in the right side after you removed that bolt and filled?

I don't recall how much exactly but it wasn't a ton...I think less than 10oz. I filled til it overflowed. Once I did that purging was easy. I think the 2 chambers are actually connected via a small hile but I think it would have taken forever to fill without filling separately.

I’ve had two broadmoors, and am still operating the most recent one (2016). In my opinion the Tough Torque transmissions are junk. At 150 hours the transmission begins to fail when negotiating hills. Operates ok on the level. The power failure is exacerbated when the unit is heated up, ie, run for a period.

It is fairly custom. I had an L-shaped bracket made to bolt to the existing hitch and tractor frame. Then I bolted an ATV hitch to it (see link) with another bracket underneath for extra support. atv-tek.com/products/trio-hd-multi-purpose-hitch-bolt-on?variant=14324811076

Kind of ridiculous that simplicity does say anything about hydro servicing. I’ve got a conquest with a k66 and there is nothing in the manual. People who generally pay 6k and up for a mower use it a lot, so not serving the hydro would be a bad idea. Shouldn’t have to call tuff torq to figure the service out. You can’t even call simplicity or BandS as there is no number. What a joke! Someone spends 10k on a prestige and the hydro blows after 500hrs because they never serviced the hydro because they didn’t know they were supposed too…
